  • Do you guys thing this is necessary if I don't plan on using it in the oven? (It won't fit mine) like will it heat up the handle that much on the stove top?

    • +1

Needed anyway as this what makes cast iron so good the whole surface is getting hot.

    • +3

The handle will definitely get very hot on the stove, but personally I'm perfectly happy using a tea towel.

  • Please tell me how to get this deal…its coming up as over $20 inc delivery

    • +1

Special offer only for Prime members, including free delivery

  • Ebay for some reason has it for around $2-3…

Those are Chinese knock offs, that said they are probably the same thing without a label.

  • +1

    Heat retention

So it stays nice and hot?!

    • +1

      Stays nice and cold….

    the text they have on the single one is for a cast-iron pan and not a handle cover, the 2 pack seems like the correct text;

Protects hands from heat up to 450°F
Offers a secure, comfortable grip when handling hot cookware on the stovetop
Beautiful black appearance, Elegant and high-grade collocation various decoration style
Dishwasher safe; Not intended for use in oven
Flexible soft touch silicone; 5.5 inch by 1.93 inch

I have these on all my lodge cookware. You will still burn your hands if the pan it hot. But it buys you a second to realise it is hot and grab a tea towel, rather than burning off your skin.
Also, they stretch over time and don't quite grip very well. I would still recommend getting them as long as they are cheap.

I have these and do not recommend them regardless of the price . It doesn’t solve the purpose and all it does is give you some additional grip which wears off over time .You are better off using your normal towels imo.

  • Anyone have a recommendation for one to use with a 12" Victoria cast iron pan? Handle (7 inches) is longer than the lodge so I don't think this would work. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01726HD72?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt…
