[Coles] 50% Off Dairy Farmers Thick & Creamy Yoghurt 875g

860

I got this from the Nova 100 website. Had to enter the 'competition' but it just sent me straight to the link to download the PDF. Seems to be a generic barcode. (Hope it is!)

Avilable to use a Coles.

  • Awesome! Love that yoghurt, especially when it's 50% off :)

    Will try the code.

  • +1

What approx price are these normally?

    • +3

I just went and bought it priced at $5.39

  • says "must present original voucher"… not sure this will work without hassle

    • +1

The voucher was provided as a link to a pdf, so the original is the pdf.

    • +1

scan it yourself at the self checkouts

      • +4

Not wanting to encourage "theft" … but if you scan this voucher at the self service checkout and put the item in the bag, you get 100% off

        • So, you scanned thee voucher, but not the product???

        • Unless you don't scan the yoghurt. I used the voucher on self checkout, on screen it shows -$4.00 but on receipt it's save $2, so that works as 50% off.

        • I'm wondering if you can scan the voucher but don't buy the yoghurt you get $4 off?

  • I was just about to post this! Saw it on the nova 937 website.

  • +3

Thanks for the voucher, no need to wait for it to be on special now you can get 50% off up to the expiry date.

    • +3

Hmmm… you could always wait for it to be on special, and get 50% off the special price. Isn't that even better.

      • +2

I hate waiting. It's on special now. I can get some now and some later if I want to! :)

  • How much is this regularly priced at?

  • +1

    from http://www.novafm.com.au/nova1069/competition_thick-creamy_1…

direct link is to voucher on nova web site is http://www.novafm.com.au/lib/images/contents/NFL0660_TC_samp…

code is not unique, so you can use it as many times as you like

  • Anyone tried scanning the image displayed on their iPhone? Saves printing.

    • +10

Usually the checkout chicks need to keep the printed voucher for store records or something - i know this because i am one ;-)

  • can the barcode scanner scans from iphone screen

    • +3

yes but it says it must be presented and surrendered so unless you want to surrender your iphone i suggest you print it out instead.

      • +1

Unless there's something I'm missing, I think you're forgetting about self checkouts.

The way I'm going to try it is to just get the barcode scanner to scan it from my android phone. Confident this should work based off benyboy's comment and I'm helping the environment out :P

  • Heard this on the radio this morning but forgot all about it! The yogurt is really creamy compared to yoplait and the like, albeit on the pricey side. 50% off is a good deal, thanks for posting the voucher!

  • Awesome, love this yoghurt so 50% is great. Will see how it goes all the way up here in QLD. Doesn't seem like there's any restrictions on location.

  • Fantastic. Will will try the code. Thanks.

Just came back, the first time it failed the barcode couldnt scan or even work manually inputted and well i was left stumped, so i went back home and double checked the pdf and found out that i had only printed some of the barcode cause the pdf reader printed it out centered and cutting out part of the barcode thus making it useless.

Round 2 i found out what went wrong and i went back with the full printout with everything like the PDF and volia it worked it saved me from looking like a fool the first time cause it worked this time and in the end i was apologetic and blamed the damn printer and my pdf software.

Finally got the yogurt for $2.70 after refunding the one i bought for full price :)

    • -4

all that effort just to save a few bucks? really?

      • +11

I did it so others can safely know that this voucher does work and i buy yogurt very often so in the end its a saving of more than a few bucks for my family.

      • +1

This is Ozbargain is it not? Really?

people have done more for less

      • +1

Some people understand and respect the value of a dollar. Not everybody wants to be in debt (Australia is one of the worlds worst countries when it comes to its civilians saving money). Also yeah, if you're on this site odds are you should fit into that category. (eg. Myself being an independent student earning nothing that can be considered as income)

        • +2

actually australia has the highest retirement saving per capita in the western economy thanks to the super

        • Ha interesting, maybe that's why Australians squander their money and get excited about pay day so much. They don't need to save thanks to the existing super plan.

However I think that's beside the point since you can't even start to access your super without severe consequences until you're at least 55 or something like that.

        • +4

We're talking about a tub of yoghurt here, right?

    • Did the voucher fitted on a whole A4 page for you or did it just print to a little corner of your paper? Mine is huge and doesn't know whether the checkout can scan such a huge barcode :)

      • the barcode numbers can always be entered at the checkout.

edit: i just printed out the voucher with no scaling and isn't huge (8x8cm?)

      • +1

I actually print 6 vouchers on one A4 size paper, they look brilliant and work fine tonight. Save me 5 pieces of paper and more important it looks better than scanning a huge A4 paper at checkout.

        • I tried to work out how to do that with PDF, but I couldn't find the options in the office printer. So I gave up and wasted a few pages instead.

        • Couldnt you just print screen, then copy and paste into word 6 times, cropping it and resizing till it fits perfectly?

        • -1

I would, but I wasn't sure if resizing it would muck up the barcode as it would be a different size.

        • I used acrobat pro from work to make a pdf file with 6 pages of the original coupon, then print multiple pages on one.

  • +1

this and gippsland yoghurt is probably the best compared to the likes of yoplait and ski

  • Yay! 50% off my favourite Yoghurt!

  • Nice work! Thanks OP!

  • i tried it today and it worked

  • +1

Coles Broadway Sydney only has the Strawberry flavour at 875g and it was cleaned out when I arrived there today. Looks like this is where the 'competition' part of the promotion comes in.

  • +1

Bought 2 tubs today, although when I got home and looked at the receipt there was no charge for the item :O however it did the name for the item: Coupon 50% OFF DF TH 875G Quantity: 2 -$0.02

…Does this mean I stole from Coles >.>

Edit: and by the way I didn't use the self serve but rather the old fashioned checkout aisle

    • There is another line on my receipt showing "Coupon 50%OFF DF THK&CRM 875G -2.00", so the coupon saved me $2.01.

    • "Does this mean I stole from Coles"

Yes. Yes is does. Aided and abetted by the checkout chick!

    • i'm guessing the small amount is to ensure you get the advertised 50% off and not 49.xx% off.

  • Local coles refused to put the voucher through, saying it had to be the original voucher…Maybe because I printed it in B&W.

    • +2

Your local Coles staff aren't bright. Coles do not lose any money on this deal, Dairy Farmers pick up the tab based on scan sales. Coles head office will present Dairy Farmers with an invoice that outlines the sale of x amount of units and claim back the money they "lost" on the voucher deal. Supermarkets don't lose any money when items are on "special", it's the supplier that discounts the item and not WW or Coles.
"Dairy Farmers" are part of the "National Foods" group which is owned by the multi-national Lion Nathan. They can afford it.

      • +2

We're talking about checkout chicks here. Don't try to use logic.

    • +1

They do the same thing to me, i just tell them i get it from the nova website there is no original.

  • mmmmmm gipsland! http://upload.ozbargain.com/2011/06/15/6100_sp_a0086.jpg
    much better than this stuff

    • +1

I agree Gippsland tastes much better. But unless you plan to eat a whole tub at once, they aren't very good to keep if marked down 66%.

    • +4

      Jalna is the best

      • yep Jalna and Gippsland are the best.

I use to like this Dairy Farmers youghurt, until I found it it contains gelatine derived from animals!

  • So can this be done at self check out or not?

    • +1

I've tried it, the discount will be applied once you scan the barcode, but a staff member will need to authorise the transaction.

When I did it, the lady was very arrogant and told me to try it myself to see if works. And then she goes on to say "THIS IS NOT ORIGINAL". I just told her the original form was emailed to me electronically. She just rolled her eyes and scanned her card to authorise it. You'd think she thought I was stealing or something.

    • I did it at the Coles self service no problem - the lady just came over at the end of transaction to authorise

      • Finally I got in when my local Coles restocked on them. However the lady watching the self serve checkouts flatly refused to authorise the voucher claiming that she had to have the printed version instead of the one on my phone. Environment, don't say I didn't try….

        • +1

cant you just scan it in yourself?? Does it scan off a phone though??

What an idiot though. I think half these people working in shops should get out.. they dont have a clue.

        • I did scan it in myself (sort of), you can manually type in the barcode (my phone screen was too glossy to scan it in). However it requires authorization so you can't pay for your cart until she swipes her card over the scanner.

  • I used this and after a few questions about the original voucher (i told them this was emailed to me too!) they authorised it!
    Love the yoghurt!
    THANK YOU!

  • +2

With all the checkout staff bitching and moaning…you'd think they wouldn't want anyone to use their specials!

  • +2

A refreshing incident at my local Coles, the staff all wanted to know how to get one for themselves. Ozbargain promoted again - LOL. BTW used twice so far at 2 different locations
