For those wondering, pencil not included.

    • +4

      Damn.
Pretty sure I need a pencil more than more usb drives

    • +18

      That's a deal-breaker for me then.

    • +3

      No pencil? No deal!

The hordes of new Wii and Wii U console owners may be interested in this external storage…

    • +4

      Serving suggestion

    • What is this "pencil" you all talking about? :P

      • Apparently it's a stick of decompressed diamond encased in a piece of wood used for leaving markings on objects.

  • +5

yep.. good price :) +1 for sure.. WD drives are more reliable in my experience

    • +3

upvoted to negate the seagate fanboi who downvoted you

      • +8

Ive had many of these seagate portable drives fail over the years and the same amount of WD portable drives didn't.

Its just my experience that's all. Stupid people vote for stupid reasons.

        you cant stop them.

  • can these be shucked or usb interface?

    • +8

shuckable but its a fat 2.5 sata drive

      • +6

Yeah, they won't fit in a PS4 or any other device that takes normal sized 2.5" drives.

    Can not order Online
Not available to Click & Collect
    Out of stock in store

    • Its showing as available for Click and COllect for me in Sydney. I haven't completed the order though.

      • That's odd. The webpage shows no stock anywhere local, yet I was able to put two into the cart and complete my purchase with free delivery to my door. I've also receive a confirmation from OfficeWorks that the order went through.

        Maybe try again?

    • bought one, current status: Dispatched

  • This, or add a few more dollars for a WD Red?

    • +1

Depends on the use. Reds are designed for NAS.

      • Just long term storage of everything.

        • +4

I just get them based on whatever is the best deal. Hard drives can just fail regardless of what brand they are. If the data you need to store is invaluable then you need multiple copies if you don't want to risk anything. Unless you need it specifically for a NAS I'd just get this.

  • I was able to purchase for $99 delivered and I am in Sydney.

  • Are these decently fast?

    • +4

      aint no ssd

    • As this is a mechanical hard disk drive running at only 5400RPM, I would describe this suitable for data backup only. If you are looking for better performance, I would suggest a Samsung T5 (for example) which is a SSD.

Its fine for everything except os duty. Serving up vids and data is fine. Shucked and installed its a tad better.

        • Thanks, so roughly 50-100MB/sec I'm guessing?

  • +1

is this ok for OG ps4?

  • Getting "This product cannot currently be purchased online, but here is something similar!"

  • I get "Sorry, but we could not add this product into your cart"

  • +2

Would this work as a game drive with XBox One ?

    • +3

Yes. I ccurrently use one with no problems.

  • +2

This deal has been there for at least half a year.

Be noticed this is thicker then 1T and 2T versions.

    • Yeah I got one back at the start of May after searching for the previous deal which should have never been expired. Plenty of stock (place cards or whatever they're called) in Blacktown back then.

  • Thanks OP. Just bought one. Been lookin out for a 3TB HDD deal.

  • Thanks OP. Just got one with free premium shipping.

  • Noice

  • Letting this deal go.as I needed a pencil more than a USB drive. Dammm…..

  • Great deal!

  • out of stock its saying for me

  • Ordered mine on 13/7 currently on backorder

  • Seems to be out of stock online and instore?

    • Edit- Just ordered online (via incognito mode to make sure) and it was available to ship to my address.

  • Just ordered one 22/7 and received confirmation of delivery - Melbourne.

  • I just ordered 2 online with free delivery, so the "Update: No longer available online, now in-store only" heading in the description doesn't seem applicable any more.
