    I would depend on hdd type and also the controller in the enclosure. Usually a 5400rpm hdd will do around 100-120mbs ssd usually 250-500mbs write speeds

    The difference is that it's USB C, though that doesn't say anything about its transfer speeds. A lot of USB C devices and cables are still USB 2.0. Or has that been renamed to something weird?

    I got the cheaper Orico branded transparent enclosure. Works well. Never had a problem. Again, speeds depend on the type of HDD you insert.

    No. I have bought 5 different 2.5" enclosures over the last few months and all are pretty much the same. Two had a few more capacitors to clean up the power. I would not leave any external enclosure connected to a PC/Laptop permanently, so they all do the same job really. I am sure if you paid $100 more you may get a few more dollars worth of components which may help a more permanent use.

  Sorta wish they would include a USB C to USB C cable, though they are probably cheap enough to pick up elsewhere.

  I wonder if a cheap decent SSD like the Crucial BX500 in this kind of case would out-perform & out-last one of those external SSD drive products.
