    Not in my experience, I've had these for about a year now, they are comfortable, and no noticable heat to me.
    I'm by no means an audiophile, but these certainly do sound great.
    For reference, I did try the next model up, WH1000XM3B, and they were more comfortable, but at twice the price I couldn't justify it for my needs.
