      • Do you guys receive email confirmation?

        • I have nothing

          • @Bryanalves: I have nothing either, used gift card

            • @Meovel: So you got the 'thanks' page but no email? Im same…. maybe we missed out some how? I screen shotted the 'thanks' so can complain if needed.

              • @Bryanalves: Mine the same, same text and no email, I think we missed it.

                • @Meovel: Ebay livechat is 26min wait.

                  You should complain too.

                  • @Bryanalves: Will try in an hour, let's share how it goes

                    • @Meovel: They checked and confirmed order didn't go through. Told them the fake confirmation screen. Asked for compensation credit they didn't give.

        • What payment options did you use? Mine was CC

      • Just checked the inbox and the confirm email is already there, and the CC is charged as well.

  • That was about 1 second, good luck to those that haven't made it to the checkout screen- I clicked on buy now under 2 seconds and I got this message- This item isn't available in the requested quantity. It may have been purchased already, or the listing has expired.

Chrome says Ebay is still loading, and the address says view session id- should I stay on it or will it not matter?

Just logged in to say this is BS.

Had in cart the last couple times before the hour mark.
Always either insufficient quantity and lost the cart or seller changed information, click again and it fails.
Each time ive started clicking at the :59 mark.

    • always reapply the voucher at the checkout page and it will refresh if there is any update to the listing. I did this when they have the $10 shipping fee, and upon voucher reapplied the checkout page updated to the current one.

      • I did it in one of the sessions before too - reapplied the voucher at early :59 and it went from $109 to $99 when i clicked confirm and pay it just went straight to red error message (not in cart) by late:59 - didnt say change of listing at all.

eBay just doesn't want me to get one, le sigh. Been such a waste of time for me.

        • yeah that's why reapply the voucher to the latest updated listing before paying so when you spam paying you get higher chance in getting through successfully in short period of time.

          • @JadaJ: I basically said I've tried that already and it didn't work either….?

  • -1

    Purchased.
Wasnt planning on getting but after going to the pay screen and not being ebay plus, signed up and got em in the next hour.

  • +3

I don't know what the hell happened with mine. Was spamming confirm and pay and then the page just said something about my payment details, with my saved credit card that I've already used! and had to re-enter everything again…. wtf

Haven't lost my cart at least I guess.. so one last chance

  • +3

This BS. All of sudden I have to retype cc detail.
    waste of time

  • I got a "Thanks, your order was placed" message. But no emails and no purchase history. Is there a way to confirm it worked?

For the people who got one. How did it go after the thank you screen?

    • I got an email. Click the "order details" button on the "Thanks, your order was placed" message

    • This doesn't sound right. Check if you were one of the 100 by clickling at the 701 sold, and if you were one, you will see your id displayed in full along the list.

      • happened to me.
"This order was not successful. Order cost has not been included in the total amount."
        didn't work.

        • Sorry to hear that mate :/

          • @JadaJ: happened to quite a few people, it seems like you had to just refresh and try again anyway…
pretty (profanity) stupid if you ask me… i feel like it would have been better if they just made new listings etc. etc. without making us play a shitty game to be honest.
would have pretty effectively countered all the bots / scripts.

            • +1

@diazepam: Unfortunately, this is exactly the Hungry Marketing method that eBay has been employing: Limited stock, Time limit, Special discounts.

All these… just to fight Amazon.

            • @diazepam: This error happened to me too! So the order didn't go through if it's not in our purchase history? :'(

  • +4

This has been the shittiest waste of time bargain of all time!!!

  • +5

Higher chance to win the Lotto.

  • +8

Thanks eBay. This should be for long term eBay Plus members no point having an eBay Plus special when any Joe Bloggs can sign up multiple accounts with the free trial.

    • +6

Don't know how many new Plus signup they've managed to pickup today but they may have lost a few existing members through this.

      • at one hour I saw 20 out of the 100 buyers as being completely new accounts, or with 1 purchase. Very much people opening multiple accounts and no doubt will be cancelling their free trial after they receive their (possibly) multiple airpods

  • +3

Couldn't get one at 4:00, but managed to get one at 4:06 somehow

  • Got one somehow, just followed what some guy posted earlier. Card has been charged $100 and got email

    • +1

I guess that neg is no longer valid.

  • +1

I got airpods just then. I got through to the "confirm and pay" page after refreshing at 3pm, but after clicking "confirm and pay" it said "the seller doesn't have that many left". You need to stay on the "confirm and pay" page and just keep clicking the "confirm and pay" button at the next hour (4pm for me). That puts you 5-10 seconds in front of everyone else still on the listing page. That's probably the only way to get them. If you missed the 4pm slot and are only on the listing page, not the "confirm and pay" page, I probably wouldn't bother.

    • +1

      Yup how i got em.
Good luck to those in the next round.

    • +1

Yep did exactly this at 4pm and got them as you describe. Such a silly game to play but strangely satisfying and equally frustrating at the same time!

    • I did that buy I think when it was ready to make the payment mine write like this

Something went wrong. Please try to check out again.

and now nothing in my card or buy in. its vanished. :(

      Any suggestion?

    • Yep did this every time except the first one at 10am and again at 2pm to reload cart just in case. Spammed the crap out of the pay now button, just kept getting page refreshing and never a purchase. I guess eBay wins, I didn't go to Amazon for prime day at all. Haha

  • I managed to snag one, but why do these shitty deals? It just pisses people off. Amazon have offered some great deals on items and don't have to resort to these stupid tactics.

  • Managed to get myself a pair of AirPods in the last drop, thanks OP!

  • Somehow managed to get to the checkout screen and it didn't let me apply the coupon code. Crap!

    • I hope you didn't close the page as this is the only way you'll get them at 5pm!

      • No way, I left the page open. Damn, another hour of restlessness.

  • This is ridiculous, was on the 'Confirm and Pay' with everything entered and started clicking around 15:59:10. Got the 'This item isn't available in the requested quantity. It may have been purchased already, or the listing has expired.' message and back to square one AGAIN. Wasted a whole day on this thanks eBay.

    • could you try going through your website history and use the same link (same session ID) again?

      • Nah, don't work. Showing 'Something went wrong. Please try to check out again.'

  • Followed upstairs advice and spammed the confirm and pay button every time it nears time but no luck.
Now thrown out of the "Confirm and Pay" page with a message"This item isn't available in the requested quantity. It may have been purchased already, or the listing has expired."
    Bow out now

    • Same here, this is worse than the those Catch of the Day deals a few years back…

    • Feels man. I'm done for the day too.

      • I'd rather eBay just set a time and had bulk alot of stock at least if you missed out you know it's done instead of having people sucked in by the hour hoping they might somehow snatch one in the next run. It's a good way to divert people's attention from Amazon for sure but they definitively didn't take the consumer's time in to consideration. By the looks of it those people with bots are really those benefiting from these hourly runs. I'm done with eBay Plus.

        • +1

Agree. eBay tried to be the smart ass I think. They hurt tens of thousands people's feelings. Can't see majority will keep Plus membership after that. Total marketing failure.

  • +1

maybe ebay is pushing us to upgrade to the fastest network that next time won't miss the deal. i did got sony 1000xm3 last time. but this time no luck, tried every hour since 10 am.

    • +2

My internet hits 630Mbps so… maybe they should just stop having stupid promotions like this.

      • +5

I'm using hospital net that reaches 300-400Mbps both ways
Friends have tried using gigabit net at universities and not getting it either. actually a stupid promotion.

        • I'm on 50Mbps and grabbed one. My ping is 20-30ms so not that fast either way.

      • where are you from that offers that?

        • University

  • Finally got one after trying since it started. Somehow? managed to get in cart last hour, cc and code entered - then just started mashing pay now button just before 4. This was using eBay app on iPad.
The only way to get one at 5 is if you have one sitting in your cart now ready to go and even then it’s luck.

    • It’s in my cart, do I need to add the podair code again? Every second matters for this deal and if I have to re-enter this code then chances are less for me:(

      • Mine was sitting there ready to go - the final price was $99 (the code had been applied)

  • For those who still have the order screen alive, just copy the promo code, setup the payment and delivery. Than try that BIN button, if you receive red warning and still be able to hit the BIN, just keep it that way until 16:59:00, than SMASH the BIN until it greys out and frozen

    • That worked for me.

Got as far as checkout the hour before and started hitting the confirm and pay with around 30 seconds to go until the next hour.

  • Boomshakalaka. As many have noted, you have to do the 2hr method. First hour get them in the cart with coupon applied, second hour spam "commit to buy". I copied and pasted the URL to another tab, had them running side by side and kept clicking both buttons from 3:59 to about 4:00:20 seconds. Thought I had missed out when one of them came through with the goods!

Good luck to all for the last batch at 5pm. Many people probably heading home so probably a good chance if using a good browser / internet connection.

  • Got this message "This item isn't available in the requested quantity. It may have been purchased already, or the listing has expired." started spamming at 3:59:30 for about 1 minute…

    • I got that message by chosing Paypal as payment. Not sure if CC would end up better?

      • All the same, tried both no go. On my company internet as well with 200Mbps up and down so it has nothing to do with internet.

      • I unlinked my paypal so it won't default to it and just have the CC option. Anyways manage to click the "buy it now" beforehand on another tab ready for the final drop fingers crossed.

  • +1

Tried the multiple tabs option - got two confirmation messages (both orders turnout out unsuccessful) - but now the session id is trashed - so I don't have it in the cart anymore. So i guess that is it for me today since I can't get it back into the cart since there is only one more chance to buy.

    • same for me, how sad. I promised the missus I'll get this for her birthday next week, so i'm screwed now, looks like I gotta pay full price ;)

      • +2

Did they not pay you enough at Red Bull, Arsenal, and Barcelona?

        • they did but OzBargain made me broke again

  • +3

If you haven't fished it to the cart already promo code applied and payment setup best is gift cards no more processing . YOU HAVE NO HOPE ON 5PM ONE .

After that is hopefully hit the second where they are released with the Confirm and pay .

  • Feedback for the sellers account is interesting: https://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&…

    • Times of the transaction is interesting also!
      https://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&ite…

      • Apparently the seller is inactive for about a year, then reappeared recently, changed name, and collaborate with eBay with a killer deal on the Prime day, for over 800 pairs of Airpods in stock, boom!

        • I reckon it may be associated with eBay itself.

    • +1

      Feedback is all from 2008

  • Its in my shopping cart… do I just spam continue to checkout at 5pm? How did people get to the confirm and pay?

    • +3

You're 2 steps away unfortunately. At 5pm you'll have to click the continue to checkout button, then enter the discount code, then click Confirm & Pay.
If you manage to get one, buy a lotto ticket to go with it.

      • -2

If it's in his checkout, then he can enter CC details and the voucher and be ready to go.
I was in this position twice, but magically on the hour the contents of my cart disappears, but others have been lucky.

      • no luck but maybe I'll buy a lotto ticket anyway - better chances there

  • I'd say large amount of people have fished them to the cart again have to be lucky with the strike on checkout. Just like a good poker player mixing play up time of release has differed :)

  • Got it =)started spamming at the last minute before the hour

    • OMG.. it does not appear in my order history and I wasn't charged the money.. getting worried

      • I saw someone else here had the same issue.

      • It happened to me as well..

  • +10

I wasted too much time on eBay trying to buy these items and failed

I think ebay has created this to distract people from amazon

    • +1

      that is pretty obvious..
since ebay stagger it throughout the day at each hour and on amazon prime day..

but it is also shit this year cos amazon don't have any exciting deals that are price shattering
so there wasn't really much we missing out on at amazon..

I was also checking the amazon deals on here
and it is underwhelming so far..

Last year's amazon deal have some better bargains prices
      like
      -minecraft xbox one s $179
      -ps4 1tb pro $379

      etc..

This deal on the other hand has been a TOTAL SHIT WASTE OF TIME!

I think the majority of people on this thread didn't get the airpods 2
and only a select few got it.

Just read the comments here will show this..

    • Nah have placed 18 orders with Amazon since 3am this morning.

  • +2

FML… so I got a thanks for your order screen, I actually stood up at my desk, arms in the air and then had to explain my actions to my colleagues… went back, clicked "view order details" and was presented with "This order was not successful. Order cost has not been included in the total amount. "

No money taken, no order in purchase history. Damn you ebay.

    • Same here…

  • +2

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE WHO FIGHT TILL THE LAST HOUR !!!

    • +2

      Just read the entire thread..

I am pretty sure majority of people in here didn't manage to get this deal.
with only a select few did.

This is more like a clickbait shit by Ebay
than any actual deal that most people are able to purchase.

Even the ebay 99c deal, most people were able to buy something..
      not so with this..

  • +4

This is basically like the old COTD Lotteries right? Realistically your chances of buying this are minimal.

    • +2

Worse, at least COTD had server crashes so you know you never really had a chance but this…

  • +15

Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted, in one moment
Would you capture it, or just let it slip?

Yo! His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already: Mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready…
