  • Not a bad offer, shame it's optus but Telstra would want double that for the phones with their new phone on plan costings

Idk. This deal would have been good 3-4 months ago or if it was a 12 month contract. But essentially if you sign up now, you'll be paying $70 a month up until July 2021 for a phone that came out in 2018.

      • +1

Actually you do make a good point given the 4 is coming out late this year

  • Is this still worth getting my plan end at end of this month

    • +1

Too expensive for this phone - maybe earlier in the year it would have made sense, the phone itself has RAM handling issues, so not a great buy

New pixel due in October… this deal would need to be around $40 / month for me to bite.

Anyone been using the P3 and have any feedback on it? I have been on my P2XL for well over a year, and haven't had any of the catastrophic failures that others have reported, but not long til I get a new contract.

    • I also have the P2XL and the camera failed after 10 months (around Dec 18). Took it back to Telstra and phone was replaced with new one, no issues since. Can't comment on P3.

      • Everyone else that I have talked to has had issues with the phone but it's been perfectly fine for me, makes me think I'm walking around with a ticking time bomb…

        • +1

          No that's is Samsung's! lol

      • You sure it was a new one, did it come in a box, telcos mostly just vpgive you a refurb

    • I went P2XL to P3XL, screen and speakers are much better. Apps still close far quicker than my P2XL, chrome tabs reload constantly. Battery life is much worse than P2XL also. I also really don't like the look of it. Ended up selling to a friend.

    • The deal has been running since the start of june. I got the $59 30gig plan. I've been using for a month. The phone is fast and responsive, fast finger print recognition, takes great pictures and loud great sounding front facing speakers. Great features include unlimited original quality photo and video uploads and Google provides support for the handset I had a question regarding a setting on the phone and through a support feature on the phone they remoted onto the phone to show me the setting. The bad…I drive country roads to and from work the mobile coverage of this phone isn't as good as my old Sony xz premium. The other issue I have is there is very slight buzz that comes through the speaker only when on the phone.

    • Pixel 3 user here. No issue at all

  • +1

Only issue with my P2XL of late is it doesn't fast charge on the 1st plug in. Only does so after 2/3 attempts.

    • +1

Try cleaning out the charging port with a paper clip.

      • Port looks clean. Gave it a clean anyway. Will monitor.

    • Could also be a bad charging cable… shrugs

  • If anyone is thinking of taking up this plan, Harvey Norman can usually get $10 off the plan p/m or offer a gift card.

    • Really, have you tried it

  • deal has been around for a few weeks.

there's also the $59 30gb deal as well.

  • +2

Just spoke to Michael at HN Castle Hill. Up to $59 plan includes Google Home Max (value $350). $65 and over - GH Max stacks with JBL speaker as well. Didn't ask which one. Porting a 2nd number also gets 20% off the phone plan plus another allocation on GH Max/JBL.

    • That sweetens the deal a fair bit! They are at least equivalent of $10-$15 value per month (assuming no one values them at RRP).

      • Would be better if the $69 included international calls.

        • Do people still use international calls? Surely Skype, Viber or Whatsapp are perfectly feasible options?

          • @pdtmathieson: I do. Better and more consistent connection with my folks overseas.

            • @juliank: That's surprising, given I have a poor and inconsistent connection to the next town.

  • I'm pretty content with my P2XL, haven't had any issues.

I spose I noticed that blue screen effect, but that's it.

Can't see myself upgrading unless something major comes along, only annoying thing is no wireless charging.

    • I'm the same - my battery life is generally good enough to get a whole day out of it so I don't miss wireless charging.

      • Yeah, I don't have any issues with battery ATM

  • So, is the New & Re-Contracts Only meant to stop anyone wanting to port in or something? Usually telcos don't allow re-contracts to get a good deal, not port-ins.

  • How do I ask Harvey Norman to price beat this? I usually like referencing a webpage or something when talking to a rep, but I can't find a webpage on the price beat + $10p/m.

  • Is this deal still available?

    • Sorry it appears to be expired now. I have submitted a report to the mods to mark as expired. Apologies for the inconvenience.
