    Cheers OP grabbed a set!

  • Does anyone know of a good one that works for Webber kettles?

  • +2

Why is this getting so many votes? Oh well, bought. :)

  • +1

    Why I bought 1?

    • I know right. You should have bought like 10??

      • Only 1 for this time, even though I do not know what/how it use for :)

    thanks Op

Thank you bought a set too

I don't get it. Aren't these just plastic scrapers? Anyone read the item description? "Unparalleled In Heat retention & Even Heating"

What's the differentce between these and just getting a tile scrapper from bunnings

    • For some reason the description is based on the Lodge cast iron pans or something. The scrapers are rubber so you don't cut into your nicely seasoned iron or stainless steel pans.

Thanks Op! I keep missing this deal. Got one now.

  • Will these not melt when used while the pan is hot?

    • Think it's more so after you have finished cooking.
So you don't scrap of the seasoning with some sort of abrasive sponge.

I got the Lodge Grill Scraper for $5.23 (still available) so I could use on the Weber BBQ.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0073E3Q7A/ref=ppx_yo_d…

In the product description under Material it says it is Cast Iron, but it is infact plastic. Amazon gave me a full refund and let me keep the item. Sounds like this is the same as it still lists "Cast Iron".

You can still use it, just have to wait for the grill to cool down a bit or else it will melt.

Can also get a silicone handle thingy for $7.94 delivered.

  • I like that they copy and pasted the description from the lodge cast iron pan.

    Thanks OP!

Got one, hopefully it'll make it easier to clean the BBQ.

If you have a grill on the BBQ, this one may be better

      • I read the reviews that the grill one but some people say that it doesnt fit all grills, which is why I’m hesitant to get that one. I definitely use the plate on my BBQ more, even bought an additional plate for when I don’t need to use the grill.

Bought 4 for my 2 cast irons. Thanks!

    Thanks OP.

Had bought the grill set in the earlier deal but really wanted this set.

  • Or you just use end of plastic spatula.

    • That works too. As long as it's a good heat resistant silicone spatula. Otherwise you're just going to destroy it.

Also keep in mind that most spatulas don't have that curved design.

  • Or just use a any old credit card/plastic available.

  • What? Why not use a metal spatula/spoon/knife? There is no way you can possibly damage your cast ironware. BTW, still waiting for the 5 piece Lodge set :( Missed it. Love the 2 Lodge cast iron skillets.

    • It's not the cast iron you're worrying about. It's the seasoning. Metal strips the seasoning. When the seasoning goes then the food starts sticking more and the cast iron rusts.

      • Metal strips the seasoning.

Not really, if u season them properly, the oil absorbs into the metal slightly… You can use anything to scrape them, so long as u don't go 'hammer & tongs' at the pan…

As for rusting, these pans can be 're-rejuvenated' by simply rubbing them with steel wool & re-seasoning… Only way u can damage these is if u physically break them…

They will last generations if cared for correctly…

        • +1

Yep, if you season them properly. Most won't though. Of course you don't need to use these things. Personally I use a brush and water to clean it and it works fine.

@GunnerMcDagget: same.. My mrs re-seasoned ours last week, they work even better than when they were new..

2x in the oven @180 for an hr & let cool in between, re-oiling of course.. Worked a treat!

Wish i started using Cast long ago..

  • Are these good for working with bread dough?

    • I don’t think these would be big enough for what you’re after.

  • Does anyone else feel it's a bit ridiculous to pay for these little pieces of of plastic..

    • +2

      no

    • I agree, purchased anyway, figure wot i saved on the pans it's a drop in the ocean really…

I think these (deal price) are way less of a rip-off compared to the normal retail & also compared with the price of the Silicon helper handles, they're like over $12ea….

  • +1

Thx OP, been waiting for these to go on sale again also…

  • Received this and silly me used this while the Solidteknics were still slightly warm. Wrongly assumed that because they were from lodge it would be somewhat heat resistant so now one of them has melted!
