Hoyts Movie Vouchers - 10 for $100 Adult Super Savers (Restricted Adult - not after 5pm Sat's)

490

Hoyts Restricted Adult Movie Vouchers - 10 for $100 Adult Super Savers.

Available for a limited time (whatever that means) - books of 10 Adult Super Savers for only $100.

I do not know when this will expire, so I've added an expiry date one month from my post date. They still may be available after that date, check with Hoyts.

The website says $7.50 handling fee, but I bought some at the cinema (no handling fee) and used two tickets immediately.

See Terms and Conditions below. They say the tickets are valid for 6 months, but the Hoyts employee marked ours to expire in July 2012 (13 months - score!).

This is cheap. Even student tickets are $15 each. For adults this is like what $7 saving for each ticket?

    • +4

Only if you can use all the tickets in 6 months (or about 1 year if youre luckly like the OP) and provided the Film Industry/Hoyts isnt flooded with twilight crap and the likes.

      • +1

The expiry dates are normally a year or few months less than that.

Only thing that is stopping me from buying is the Saturday night restriction, which is when I normally have time for movies. For me personally, buying an unrestricted ticket from RAC for $11 each works out to be a better deal. And you don't have to buy in bulk too.

        • How can we buy the tickets from RAC? Can we also buy village tickets for $11 from RAC? Please inform.

        • +2

Here in WA, RAC/medibank private members can purchase movie tickets for $11. IIRC, RAC sells both hoyts and event cinema vouchers. Website states that movie tix are not to be used on Saturdays after 5p.m. but the tickets I get from the RAC branch normally don't have that clause and have been using them on Saturday nights.

As for RACV, I don't know if they have similar arrangements. RACQ has this, can't find anything on RACV though. Perhaps try calling RACV and see if they have movie voucher discounts?

    • We saw Source Code (great flick btw). They wanted $17/ticket, so $100 for 10 was great deal.

      • +2

I bought Source Code in Bali for 60 cents AUD. It is good movie.

        • +17

No you bought a DVD with the movie Source Code on it. :P

        • you sure you watched the right Source Code, cause those burned discs can be really nasty… just saying ;P

  • Great deal. Good for gifts too.

Lol "Restricted Adult Movie" in the title by Hoyts is surely an eye catcher.

    • +3

Changed to 'Restricted Adult' just for you :)

    • I know I did a double take. Good deal though.

  • good buy, if I couldn't get unrestricted ones from work for the same price I'd buy these ;0)

  • Good deal, except for this condition:
This voucher is redeemable for one (1) general admission seat for one (1) adult for any session (except Saturday after 5pm).

That's when I see most of my movies :(
Still, you have my vote :)

  • meh get them from RACQ for $10 whenever I want. Only for members tho

  • +1

so i saw 'restricted adult movie' and clicked in..

  • I used to stock up on cheap tickets until they started forcing 10 packs instead of 5 packs which usually barely last for 6 months & then I'm suddenly forced to watch crappy movies just to get rid of them :P

Better if you're always planning to go with someone, or perhaps a whole family

    • These last 12 months though.

      • +1

Only the employee who did the initial batch of tickets from the thread poster made the expiry date July 2012. There's no guarantee that everyone else will get the same length (not that I could find)

      • As someone who works at Hoyts, I can tell you that they only last for 6 months, as well as a grace period of a few weeks.

Just a tip to you guys as well, we have to give everyone 6 -full- months of the voucher, so the month you purchase them in is included on top of the 6 months promised, meaning if you purchase them on say, the first of July, you get the rest of July, then 6 months after (end of January next year)

        • I bought a booklet of 10 yesterday and the cashier didn't mark any expiry date on the vouchers. Win?

  • Not a bad deal.

What the hell does Restricted Adult refer to?

    You're either over 18 or you're not.

    • +2

i think they are showing porn now… ;-)

    • +3

It just means that it's restricted to when you use it.
E.g It can't be used Saturday Night.

  • +1

How much is the 3D upgrade fee per ticket?

    • +1

      approx $3.

    • $2.50.

  • +1

    porno movie screenings?

  • +1

If you remove the first adult in the title, you'd probably get less confusion…it's unnecessary given it already specifies that they are adult super savers.

    • +1

Yeah I was thinking that maybe they shackle you down to the seat so that you have to watch all of a horrible movie. :)

  • Great deal! So you are able to purchase these from the cinema counter and save $7.50 or was the OP just lucky to not get charged? >_<

If purchased online, does anyone know how long delivery takes? Would be wanting to use them next weekend.

    • +1

Not lucky, I think 'handling' is only charged when you get them posted. They had oodles of the vouchers in a draw.

    • +1

I can confirm that you can indeed, purchase them at any Hoyts box office, and save yourself the $7.50 charge. We sell them for $100 exactly :)

      • Thanks for the feedback guys, going to get them from the counter :)

  • thanks to the contributor. the ticket which usually cost $18.00 will now be only $10.00. Huge savings.

Also I purchased from the Hoyts counter and also save $7.50 postage charges. Great contribution.

    Cheers
