  • I've been looking for a deal like this. Thanks AznSniper.
Anyone know if you can you crack the shell off and stick it into a P33 ?

  • seems like a good price.

  • I need one by Thursday 23 June… any chance of deliver by then?

I'm in inner west Sydney, and get the following postage estimate: Approx. 3-10 Business Days from dispatch. Delivery times are 9am-5pm Mon-Fri. Package MUST be signed for. Cannot deliver to PO Boxes.

If I buy immediately, when will WOW dispatch? Over the weekend or Monday?

    • Don't like your chances. Surely if you need it that badly by a certain date, you're better off just spending an extra 10 bucks or something and grabbing something similar at a brick and mortar store?

      Eg. http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XH1220/wd-elements-se-750gb-…

    • We will usually dispatch on Monday morning for any weekend orders. The only issue is there has been some flooding down south which has caused delays. I will check the status of freight to Sydney tomorrow and come back with some answers :-)

  • is this usb3?

    • No. It's USB 2.0

    • It's USB 2.0 which is actually good unless you have USB 3 on your computer.
The USB 3 drives use and come with a USB 3 cable (obviously) which is backward compatible with USB 2.

Problem is, the USB 3 connector only partly sits in the USB 2 socket (USB 3 is deeper) and the cable is thick and not flexible. The connection can easily be knocked and killed, possibly corrupting the drive at critical time.
I have to be really careful when using my USB 3 2.5 inch drive, which is annoying.

will it work in other things if opened?

      What?

I gather he's asking whether the bare drive will work in other devices (PS3, notebook computer etc) if it is removed from the enclosure.

Thanks but no I'm not a 'he' :o

          are you hot?

        • this should be going in the wiki

    • Yes, just crack the case open

      • 2nd comment from the beginning by "fordprefect" links to where it says no. Unless the drive is 9.5mm in height, it's too big to fit into laptops or standard 2.5" cases.

        • yep this is the 12.5mm height which very few laptop(toshiba comes to mind take)
All other laptops take the smaller 9.5mm or if you have a hybrid one the 7.5mm

  • good price including shipping

Apparently the case is very bulky. Regarding the internal hd, I think it is a 15mm height SATA drive from the descriptions.

    See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaiDfel8l5Y

I.e - not suitable for any laptop or ps3.

      also CONGRATZ 1st comment!

      • Thanks for the congratz. I let's keep it low key though.

And yes, they have now updated the website - My neg will still stand though, as my boss was still charged postage.
