  • Good value FF…

AF is the only downside, all 39 AF points are gathered around centre of the framework.

    Perfect for landscape/architecture.

Quite light to carry too, compared to Canon 5D II, III… not to mention that it is weather sealed.

Wow this is a good price for full frame.

  • Does this have Oz warranty?

    • Yes

      • Are you sure? I don't see that mentioned anywhere in the listing.

There appears to be a separate listing for Aus Stock -> https://www.amazon.com.au/Nikon-Black-VBA430AA-Australian-wa…

        • I've purchased my camera gear from them before. Can confirm 100% Australian stock, no grey imports. They give you full invoice and everything. Inside the camera box the warranty slip is Australian.

Ouch, that is expensive for an outdated camera, this was released back in 2013.

    • Whats the next alternative for that bracket though? I guess you could get a gen 1 a7 for that money but the glass is expensive compared to the nikon which you could get started with a 50mm 1.8 for about $100 or less

      edit

      Did the leg work.
This is a way better deal: A7 kit for under $1000 from Jb.

I actually still have a D600 (previous model of D610) and I had an A7 (now have a7III).
If you're not invested in Nikon full frame glass (unlikely) - then the A7 is superior in pretty much every aspect, other than MAYBE ergonomics.

  • This or EOS RP? Obviously the RP is more expensive but it can be had for not too much more.

Here's a comparison in sensor performance:

      http://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR.htm#Canon%20EOS%20…

For reference, the EOS RP has the identical maximum dynamic range (9.11 ev) to the 1-inch sensor RX100 IV point & shoot. How Canon manage to sell that piece of junk is one of the universe's most profound ineffable mysteries.

      • You are not exactly right.

D610 shines in terms of DR at low ISOs.
Starting from ISO 600 and up there is not much difference between D610 and Canon RP (~0.6 EV).
Starting from ISO 1200 both of them have pretty much the same DR (difference ~0.2 EV or less).

Sony Rx100M6 and Canon RP has the same DR only at one ISO reading : 126.
At all the other readings RP is better.
At ISO 600 RP is ~1.8 EV better then Sony RX100M6, at iso 1200 RP is ~2.25 EV better.

For landscapes D610 is a better choice of course.
But for taking shots or esp. video of moving objects esp in low light conditions, there is no real difference between RP and D610 from DR perspective.

Sony Rx100 is a wonderful camera - I have one- but in terms of DR is not as good as RP.
