    I've done the maths… can confirm $40 is $40.

  • I literally just opened up 2 accounts with St George. Why.

Can i not verify my account if i'm not australian? The verify ID step only provides options for citizens. Doesn't seem to accept international passport or anything else that someone that wasn't born in Melbourne can provide. That is kinda shitty.

Downright Un-Australian! (Your ID, that is).

They might accept other forms of ID at the branch. Could be worth asking.

If you’re in SA, you can get $50 and a free ticket to the Royal Adelaide Show if you open a Complete Freedom account with Bank SA before 23 August and deposit $500.

How much is the monthly service fee ?

Still no Apple Pay for this mob. Ridiculous

      Get a Samsung. Problem solved.

Can we transfer the $500 then transfer it back out or does that need to stay in there the 45 days?

    • Am wondering this too

If you don't deposit a minimum in the account each month, you'll be charged a fee. A friend opened an account and forgot to do any deposits to get the $50 and they charged $5 a month for a few months, plus interest, and tried to make her pay, so just be careful.

  • Is there any impact to your credit rating from this?? I can’t see how but maybe a bank person can fill us in??

    • No mate. Done this before, no need for a bank person, this offer has happened a few times now.

  • Re: St George, not sure about Melbourne
There's a $5 monthly fee they neglect to mention anywhere other than half-way down the T&Cs despite a seemingly complete table of fees and charges on the main page.
Deceptive/misleading, monthly fees in 2019 and promo value is down to $30 after 2 monthly fees during the required 45 days. $40 in the title is probably not really appropriate.

  • Couldn't create an account online - it told me to visit a branch. Fat chance of that happening, it would need to be $500.

  • Anyone get their $40/$50 yet? How long after do we it? :)

  • So if you have a St.George account other than the Complete Freedom one, you're still eligible for the $40?
