          so cut them in half and you have twice as many days of vitamins ….. it’s what i do with vitamin C already, buy high dose, cut in half , works out cheaper than buying lots of lower dose tablets.

          wanted to do the same with prescription medicine but doctor wouldn’t prescribe high dose version for me to cut in half.

            @garage sale: Cutting up Berocca or Vitamin C is fine.

            Never cut up prescription medicine because they can have special coatings for time release. If you cut them up, you put yourself in danger.

                @[Deactivated]: As pills etc are designed to be taken as a whole (for the most part) and in turn the active ingredient won't necessarily be distributed evenly throughout the pill. If chopping up, it's probably best to crush them and thoroughly mix the dust. This way one ensures that the active ingredient is portioned evenly.

                    @[Deactivated]: Often the cut line is to break them for easier swallowing and does not mean that active ingredient is evenly split between the two halfs.
                    As I noted "for the most part" and and not saying this is true across all pills…..especially with medication whereby it maybe more strictly controlled/managed.

                        @[Deactivated]: Silly comment to make especially as you don't know anything about what I do or don't know. My above comments are based on general knowledge and personal experience. When I worked in a Pharmacy (many years back) often the pills were mixed by hand prior to being compressed into a Pill. Not all places do this and often the active ingredient is added into the base mix and and not necessarily evenly distributed. Generally there is no need as as one is meant to consume the whole pill. Same can be said for many Party Drugs out there. Taking half a pill doesn't mean you are only getting 50% of the drug hence can be dangerous.
                        Anyhow………this is about Berocca's and a casual banter………not a debate on Pill making :-)

    Coles and Woolies both normally have their home brand variety (same basic ingredients), for $4-$5 for a 15 pack. So not a huge saving here. Definitely not if you have to pay for shipping

    I like to use these as a hangover cure. Actually works pretty well when you're feeling super seedy. Dunno if the science adds up but give it a try.

    I'm not sure if there's much difference in these two brands but the voost 60 tablets work out at $0.13 per tablet.
