So I logged onto my eBay, and found this offer on one of the banners on the top.

Seems to be targeted. Check your accounts now to see if you're also in luck!

Hope this helps someone :)

I got the lousy "Pay $0 Insertion Fees on new listings!" - in others words still pay the final value fee! This offer they sent me is useless since I don't even use the monthly 40 "free" listings offer. I'm really missing those sell and pay only $1.10 weekends!

    • I have the same issue. Costs too much to list on eBay with the Paypal fee plus the eBay fee. Especially if you're listing high value items and trying to stay competitive.

      • 100% agree with this. The fees make it too expensive to sell high value items competitively :(

I can stomach the high fees. It's the scammers that are the main issue with high value items. I'm pretty much done with eBay, except for selling junk where i am content to get $0.

          • @Charity: Scammers? On digital goods sure. Otherwise there's PayPal protection.

@justtoreply: Paypal = fantastic way to buy. A nightmare for sellers. The transaction starts when the seller receives payment.

      • PayPal's 6 months "Item is not as described" free 'return policy'… :(

    • Some people are still getting those for the past few weeks consecutively, ut like yourself, not me :(

Same here. Really miss the $1.10 weekends as well.

  • Don't fall for it. These offers are only good for a short period, something like 7 days. If you list an item under the promo and it takes longer than that to sell, they slug you the final value fee.

Really? In the past I’ve had them honour the promo when the sale occurred outside the promo period.

That's incorrect. If you list it under the "Buy It Now" it's valid for 30 days. After 30 days it auto re-lists, which in turn your listing incurs fees

Not sure about 'Auction style but think it works in the same way depending on the length you want the auction to run.

      • I had multiple Buy It Nows that took probably 2 weeks plus to sell, but well under 30 days. Copped final value fees on all of them. Called eBay and was told that it had to sell within 5 7 or 10 (can't remember exactly) days to qualify for the promo.

Well you got dudded. I've sold hundreds with no fvf, as long as it wasn't relisted thus creating a new item number.

          • +1

@scuderiarmani: I think that is correct.

@Bobjane.. did you call up eBay to dispute the fee's and if so, wat did they say, because I was told it goes for 30 days, at which point it auto-relists, ore you simply end your listing just an hour or so before it ends.

        • Did you use auction style so it relisted after whatever time you chose, rather than buy it now, which is 30 days.

The fees are based on relisting, but on 30 days per se

  • rsvp link?

  • Thanks op, wouldn’t have looked if you didn’t mention it.
I got unlimited free listings until the end of today, which is better for me than 3 x free fvf. I had lots of stuff to relist, so couldn’t have come at a better time.
