    Am I blind?
I can't find details of the specific model anywhere on the linked page…
It's a bit of a worry if they aren't willing to specify the exact product they are trying to sell !

    • Ditto.

    • From the belkin site. Has the same description as this product. I would think it is the same.

      • I agree, it looks to be the same item - but when you buy something (especially online) it is nice to be able to confirm you will receive the item you expect to get…

        • yes of course, always best to confirm. shoot them an email, or the ozbargain rep might find his way onto this post. They're usually very helpful.

        • +1

Rep might reply faster if he you MLN in the title.

        • BTW thanks for updating the post with what you believe to be the model number and letting us know about this deal - but it would be ideal if MLN specified it on THEIR Website :)

  • Sorry; Double Post

  • Sorry, I can't seem to see the 'free shipping' being applied even after the order. Is there a code to enter?

    Cheers,

    • You're right, good spot! I cant do it either. I've emailed MLN online sales about this. Hopefully they can correct the error soon.

  • Good deal, my dad got this for $60 from Hardly Normal, of course told me about it a month later. It is easy to setup but dd-wrt doesn't work on it.
It is very stable anyways and my dad runs it to about a month continuously and without power-cycling.

  • Pity it doesnt use a third party firmware. Wanted to use it as a access point for my Blu-Ray Player and 360 to connect to my Belkin N300

  • Can anyone confirm whether this router would work well with a T-Box? I'm trying to set a T-Box up for one of our technically-illiterate friends. So far I've tried a cheap D-Link (DVG-G1402S) and a TP-Link wireless router, and both stutter when watching the Bigpond Channels. The only one that works well enough to watch so far is the Telstra branded Thompson router (TG782T). Ready to throw the stupid T-Box across the room - It should WORK with any old router you'd think!.. If the Belkin is the answer, I'll be all over it. Thanks

    • It's always problematic trying to stream over wireless connections.

It's not the T-Box's fault, you need a decent signal. Much much better to use a wired signal when streaming, otherwise you run out of bandwidth if another wireless device (eg: phone, laptop) connects. This is because the wireless is shared between all devices, and with media streaming you need a good continuous signal.

DVG-G1402S and this one are both 802.11g routers. You probably need a newer 802.11n 300mbit router to make it work. Also note that 802.11g connections on 2.4GHz band share the same frequency with microwave oves, garage door operners and some cordless phones.

Interestingly, the TG782T is also 802.11g… so it's not the "technology" - it must be the signal strength. Or the Thompson "just makes it" and the others "just don't", in which case the thing will be unreliable long term because it's running right on the edge.

      • I've also tried linking the T-Box to the cheap routers over different wireless channels, different levels of security, different distances from the routers, and hardwired using Ethernet cable with the same stuttering results (tested two different T-Boxes), which makes me believe it's a port forwarding issue within the router. If I bypass the routers and plug it directly into the modem, works just fine. Perhaps the router is struggling to handle the protocols Bigpond TV uses, so I still have a few more tests to run. The internet connection itself is fast and reliable. Hopefully I stumble across a solution. Was just wondering if the Belkin was a little friendlier when it comes to streaming content from Bigpond. Thanks for your help anyway Llama!
