MOD: It's confirmed to be a price error and will not be honoured by HP.

From the order confirmation email:

So if confirmation is received, that should mean they will honour it.

    I was on the phone to HP looking for a laptop when this went live and I said what about the omen laptop? I never mentioned price or anything and instantly they said that's a price error and everyone will be refunded. Even though I missed out I'd hope people would get it. He said that the price should have been higher than $1999 but the $1500 was correct.

P.s. Also sucks that I actually had 2x Amex with hp credit back offers to the tune of $300. :(

What I would find stupid is that it's actually a price error, and not just one item but rather few that are $1000+ off in a sale that's apparently UP TO $550 off. They don't have 100 models on sale so a mistake like this is made, it's only 10 to 15 models on sale in that august frenzy as they call it. If it's gonna be classified as a "pricing error" I call it BS! It's a marketing scam.

I purchased one earlier today and received a confirmation of order email.

I have read every response on this thread to date so I know there is quite a fair bit of “won’t be honoured, pricing error”

This wasn’t a mere pricing error in the category of someone missing a digit and offering a $1999 laptop for $199. We effectively were willing to pay $1999 for the laptop but used a voucher code to bring the price down by $1500. The code still remains on the website. Whilst I agree HP is unlikely to honour the price, the fact remains that the price was correct, it was an offer they made to a consumer to reduce the price by X $.

Whether or not this means diddly squat in the great scheme of things remains to be seen, but I intend to fight this if it is not honoured, for shits and giggles at least, until it costs me tangible cost (I don’t consider the time I spend fighting for shits and giggles a cost, only if I get the dreaded “seek legal advice” line)
