The recommended retail price is $3299, once the stock comes in it will be selling for $1999. Website admin had already been informed to take out information on the online store for the OMEN model.     Just got off the HP live chat and they said that "We already have your order but we are currently waiting for the ETA of your order", and "As advised, we need to allocate the model from our overseas plant", so it may take a while for any real updates. But from what's been said, it seems as though my order won't be cancelled, can't speak for anyone else though. For reference, i ordered mine about 10 minutes after this post was created.

      Can you let us know the status of your order based on this search? Was your order "authorised / not authorised" ? From comments apparently there are some orders submitted but "not authorised".

        I'm currently not able to access that method of viewing order status as when i click the search button it says "You have to enter the captcha text", when i clearly have completed the captcha. I was able to look at the status late last night through there and it said "not authorised"

          Same, I tried different browser or Google Chrome incognito and it would eventually work a few times. The on-screen verification window by Google Captcha sometimes get hidden/not shown and hence you won't get through.

        The 'authorised or not authorised' is purely a payment gateway thing, that is, whatever payment gateway HP uses has already pre-authorised the amount of $499 for HP which when their order management staffs attempt to work on a particular pending order on his/her computer, a single click will turn this status to 'authorised' from 'not-authorised' and at the same time, takes the money out of the buyer's credit card and sits it in the payment gateway's holding account. At the same time, the order should automatically proceed to the next phases on their system (e.g. Accepted or Production).

        I would be very surprised if somebody (or more than a few) are actually on the 'authorised' status as often such 'authorisation' mechanism is always used for high-value or large (which requires a special shipping quote) order and it also prevents from having to pay the commission or transaction fee to the payment gateway provider when refunding a customer as money hasn't been taken out of his/her credit card yet.

        Summary, orders could be cancelled by HP at any time regardless you are seeing authorised or not authorised but I assume that if you have the 'authorised' status already, you'll have a greater chance of getting it :)

    I just spoke to HP Australia chat and this is the response I got for my order;
    -All orders for this unit are on hold. You will be receiving an email notification on any progress and updates.

    So I doubt anyone put an order will receive it :/

    Learned my lesson from HP way back with the Microserver price error. I now only participate in price-error sales with the bigger retailers like kogan or amazon, who at least give a consolation voucher/credit.
