Hi first deal post so be gentle!

Only saw this due to checking out a different oz bargain deal on the fenix 5 plus sapphire for $650

wanted the 5s plus version as the others are just gigantic on my wrist.

This looks like a good price.

NOTE the heading on rebel says fenix 5s glass. But the picture and description and specs are the 5s PLUS. And the colour of white and seafoam im pretty sure is only available on the new Plus version. I think they have mispriced this as the 5s instead of newer model

Finally… I went into a jbhifi and they price matched the 5s Plus for $499 but they did it for the black and silver colour which as a guy I much prefer (and I think rebel have that model/colour at $999 still)

        My local JB Hifi is poor when it comes to price matching for me, so if you could upload your receipt, it'd help immensely.

                @tezzla: Thanks for the receipt upload, it did the trick.

                Tried to price match at my local, the shop assistant I dealt with looked for a 5s plus but they had none in stock. Instead, she offered the 5 plus Multisport sapphire edition for $549 which I was happy to accept.

                Watch is great so far with only 2 downsides I've come across; the heart rate monitor seems to be very erratic, bordering on erroneous (whereas my old fitbit Alta hr was extremely accurate), and Garmin pay doesn't work with my bank. It's very good quality otherwise.

                  @The J man: Was it the 5s version or larger 5? Either way that is a ripper deal as the sapphire is usually alot more.

                  I would have got the 5s plus in sapphire if they had it available even if it was $600 :)

                  I havent tested garmin pay yet but the hr seems OK for me so far

                    @tezzla: It was the larger 5, this one.

                    I was very happy with the offer and was happy to pay more for a sapphire version.

                    The HR for me seems to work fine sometimes, but then the reading suddenly escalates, sits there for a bit, then goes back down to normal. I don't know if it's something I'm doing wrong with how I'm wearing it, or if the unit is faulty or if it's something else entirely.

                    I set up my credit card for use with Garmin Pay instead of my bank card, it's a slight inconvenience, but that's a fault of my bank and not the Fenix itself.

                    Battery life has been good so far, charged to 100% last night, down to 87% now (about 20 hours since charging). So about a week with minimal use from the look of things.

                      Tried to setup garmin pay but no dice with my bankwest credit card :/

                        @tezzla: Garmin Pay only works with certain banks/bank cards/credit cards, it doesn't work with the visa debit card issued by my credit union (whereas Google Pay does), but my credit card works with Garmin Pay (as it's issued by the CBA), so I set that up to be used with Garmin Pay instead.

                        See here for a list of cards which should work using Garmin Pay.

                        Hope that helps clear up any confusion.

    Yes. My local JB was also happy to pricematch for the black. Also if you can access RACQ e-gift cards, another 4% off.

    Am loving it so far. Only thing sitting at the back of my mind is the battery life and whether my watch is a dud.

    Not sure what others are getting but mine drains about 4-5% overnight.

    Played a round of golf today and 4.5hours of gps etc drained slightly more than 50% of the battery

    Battery widget estimates I get about 4days in smartwatch mode with hr on and activity tracking. Again thought it would be more like a week.

    Anyways something to keep an eye on when you first start using it

    Fenix 6 just got released so expect these to only get cheaper before being discontinued.
