$30 off Exide Car Batteries @ Beaurepaires When Trading Old Battery

60

It's that time of year when batteries seem to die at the most inopportune moments. Well especially for us Mexicans.
$30 off isn't a bad deal considering some places want $200+ for one you can get for about $150 here.
The odd part is that they charge $11 for fitting. I understand it's a business but if you are trading the old one from your car then they won't fit the new one without a further $11. So they will happily leave you without a working battery? I guess you could call it a $19 discount in that case but fine if you are getting one for another vehicle.

P.S. Don't forget the &% cashback if you purchase online.

  • damn it where where you a week ago, bought a centery battery for 150, but plan to trash the car to a wrecker, and get like 400 bux, (will probably take the battery out…) but they have them here for 114!

    • What kind of car? I bought a 550cca battery from Repco for ~$60 not long ago.

      • Mitsubishi 380, sounds like i should have shopped around :'( - here is my ozbargain badge… (wife was getting antsy)

will probably try sell the car before hand for like 1k (as it has some front damage) or even just repair it, if i can find the right colours its like 350 bux in second hand panels…

        • As long as you haven't used all your demerit points I'm sure they'll let you keep your badge.
Sounds like you know what you're doing, but treat the wrecker as last resort. They will give you practically nothing.

          • @mapax: yeah tell me about it (practically nothing), but i'm hoping for about 500, (last resort from a wrecker) we got 2k from the insurance company already (to repair it ourselves), 380's they go for about 3-4K so if i can get that much for it, I'll be happy, unless i can find some damn panels in EV vision!then should be able to get a decent amount more for it, (but cant be bothered paying someone 3-500 dollars to paint one from a wrecker!)

  • I just spoke with them about the $11 fitting plus trade in and they said they would modify offer that you don't have to trade. Also spoke to another store a bit further away and he was willing to fit for free. YMMV.

  • I did this a coupld of months back. If you order online the trade in bit seems to get lost unless they are switched on. Online ordering is just an email from HO to the store. My email got lost (apparently) so not a great experience and there is no way to call, you have to email HO for support. To thier credit they did get it resolved but then I had to wait for stock as the store no longer had my type of battery.

  • I personally had a bad experience with exide battery. Died on me in my mazda only after 2 years. Autobarn has discounts on the supercharge range atm about 189 dollars and its easy changing batteries urself. Might as well save that labour cost and spend it on a more enduring battery imo

    • even better supercheap has some specials on Century…

      • Yeah century is cheaper but warranty is only 2 years compared to supercharge which goes up to 40 months. Not big ish price difference. I rather side on the safe side with bit more warranty. But thats just me :)

  • let me get this straight

the battery i'm looking for is https://www.beaurepaires.com.au/batteries/exide-x55d23cmf-ca…

it was $179 save $30 on the website, which totals to $149.

But if i go in-store and trade in my old battery, it will give a further $30 off to become $119 ?

    • Don't think so.

I found that it pays to ring a few Beaurepaires outlets near you. Last two batteries I bought - Beaurepaires was cheapest by a margin - the price differed by up to $30 between outlets. The one I bought from was cheaper than the advertised internet price. Go figure.
