    Thank you OP; interested.
Do they also come in brushed aluminium, rather than just white?

    • ewww. unless your walls are also aluminium or you like the futuristic 90s look. go with the white.

      • +4

Or, unless I wish to match the rest of my electrical fittings (from this century)…..

        • ↓ u got lucky. hes saving you from yourself.

    • Unfortunately it is only white until there is demand for brushed aluminum.

      • It is likely that one day our civilisation will collapse, and eventually new civilisations may arise that go through a phase of thinking brushed aluminium GPOs are a neat idea. But will they follow AS3000?

Hos do you measure semand if you dont sell it?

        • You check how many people ask "Do they also come in brushed aluminium, rather than just white?"

          • @KentT: But people may not ask if its not available

It should be free shipping if spend $39: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/help/customer/display.html?node…

    • Thanks, I wasn't aware of the limit change until now.

Did anyone think these are worth putting in when already things are usb-c?

    • No.

Depends if u want to fast charge everything, I have 2 of these style power points and use them all the time.

I slow charge most of my devices over night so I don't smash the battery every day.

      • Much worse like that. If you fast charge your device from 30% to 80% 10 times much less detrimental for battery than leave device overnight and leave it overcharged for a couple of hours… I killed a couple of smartphones batteries by charging overnight.

All of my cables are USB-A to USB-C? I haven't got anything that is A-A

    • The power outlets in my house are 20-40 years old. (I figure the brown ones are 1970s)
The USB-A sockets will date on a much shorter timescale.

At which point you can conveniently stop using then without losing anything

    Nice!

Unfortunately you need an electrician to install these, significantly raising the cost

    • Where is the "+1 funny" button?

  • Costco sell a similar thing in a twin pack - from memory around $30.00

    • I haven't seen for the past few months whenever I go to Costco Epping.

    • It was 20 actually, i bought these, they were fine. Mechs at the back are slightly bigger than old HPMs so you might think twice if installing them in a tiled area.

      They have a 1.1 and a 2.1A ports.

    bought four. thanks

  • 1A USB whats the point

    • How about 2.1A?

      • thats for both

  • +2

These may seem like a great idea but the USB ports can never be turned off so the circuit inside is powered on 24/7 365 days a year and depending on the quality of the components used will fail sooner or later and when it does you can't simply unplug it like you would a plug in charger or even turn it off. Would you normally leave a faulty device plugged in and turned on not knowing what could happen such as overheating or becoming live at mains potential? Just my 2c worth.

  • 2.1a total won't be charge multiple devices

  • No fast charge no deal.
