Sounds great but I can not stand this part "Please mention Food Morning when booking". Then you will get 2nd rate service. Would prefer I provide the coupon after I have eaten and am paying the bill.

  • What Im confused about is, these merchants agree to do these group-buy coupon things for cheap advertisement to woo potential customers right? Yet they stab themselves by discriminating coupon customers…

  • Sounds like a great deal - wish this was on the Gold Coast - but have to agree with above posts.

One place I had a seafood platter voucher for they would not take my lunch booking until after 2PM in the afternoon (quiet time) as they were "fully booked" but when I arrived an hour early (to have some drinks until 2PM) the place was half empty and they decided to seat us right away.

Another place I have been trying unsuccessfully for 2 months to get a booking… several weeks ago I was advised the next available Friday or Saturday night table is LATE JULY !

  • Hi GerrardLFC and JLove, yes, I agree with you both regarding 2nd rate service and this largely comes down to educating the restaurant owners. You've probably heard and read about these poor services on blogs everywhere, and this is something we work hard to get around too. We spend a fair amount of time actually visiting the restaurant and sitting down with them educating them about group buying, and making sure they understand how important new customers are to them, and that this is not a profit gaining exercise but their chance to impress new customers and turning them into long term loyal customers. I must agree, some restaurants still don't get it, but at least more and more are starting to understand and we are doing our bit to help. Food Morning is only 3 months old but we've had good responses from customers and restaurants. However, ultimately, it's up to the restaurant to treat their new customers as new opportunities and provide services that they serve.

  • sorry, typo on last sentence.. "… as new opportunities and provide services that they DESERVE"

  • "You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.foodmorning.com.au, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
www.foodmorning.com.au uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown."

The deal looks good to me, but I want to be sure I am giving my details to only the right website. Why compromise on security?

    • Hi roughana, thanks for pointing it out. We are looking into it and discovered an image we recently updated is actually causing the issue. We are working to have that fixed. It seems to only happen in Firefox and not other browsers.

    • Hi roughana, may I ask which version of Firefox do you see this warning? We have tested with all latest browsers and can't see the issue. Maybe it's happening with a particular version.

      • It happened on my version 3.6.18 and a colleagues 4.0.1.
We have now seen that it works fine with other browsers too, so I apologise for the inference that the site was not secure. I'll see what I can do about updating the certificates that Firefox knows about.

        • The 3.6.18 security update was applied today before I tried to access the site.
I have a second colleague with the 4.0.1 security update installed 29 April and he doesn't have the issue.

      • The Certificate Authorities that were installed in my Firefox were for COMODO Extended Validation Secure Server CA 2 and not COMODO Extended Validation Secure Server CA which your site is certified by.
I exported the certificate from machine that had it and imported into mine and now I can access the site.

  • People have to learn to outsmart them. I first learnt my lesson on the gold coast with the $29 deal for two steak dinners and showed vouchers and got half a meal and bad service . Now I don't produce the vouchers until after the treatments or meals . One hour massage do I have a voucher um no get the good service show the voucher oh why didn't u tell me about your voucher sorry I didn't know.
Tips are only buy vouchers that states anything from the menu then order and then produce voucher, I'm just about to use a sushi voucher which says any 8 plates plus miso plus beans that's what I'm ordering then giving the voucher I bet if I gave the voucher first they tell me only 8 plates from this selection only half serve soup and probably 10 beans.
Once you pay for these vouchers the company gets the money so they don't care and even better hope you don't show up !

  • can 3 people share 1 voucher? the platter might be too big for 2 small people

    • Sure. Some customers use a coupon between several people and order additional dishes so they can try more things.
