    Woo hoo!

Cheers DB. Great offer again by SB.

  • +2

Any recommendations on what to buy? I did a search for some items under 5 but they seem to be cheaper on ebay

Just bought 2 of these Rhodia pads for $5.38 (-$2 cb = $1.69 each).
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/473562
      $4.95 each at Officeworks.
1 to 3 months delivery admittedly but who doesn't like future surprise parcels?
And we're looking for bargains not "needs".

      • Thanks for this. Just what I "needed"!

    • Need any laundry detergent? If Dynamo or Cold Power 2L is on sale for around $8, it's a decent one to buy.

  • Just to be sure, is this a new and separate offer from the recent offer here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/474761 ?

So you can claim this $2 bonus as well as the previous $2 bonus?

    • I too am curious of this

    • Yes. This is a different promo.

    • Following activation, you must make a purchase at any store (excluding Woolworths Gift Cards) between August 04 12.00AM and August 04 11.59PM (AEST)

      select getdate()

      • Where's the activation link for today's $2?

        • There isn't one. That was only to ensure people were coming from OzBargain (as it was an exclusive)

          Just go to shopback
          Select Amazon
Add stuff to your cart more than $5
          Checkout and pay

You will get your usual cashback + an additional $2 bonus.

  • (newbie) Can you double dip with cashrewards?

    • +4

It’s evidently a shopback promo. But double dip with shopback Cashback.

      • +3

Well I am literally new to the whole cashback thing. Just made a cashrewards account last week as I kept seeing people talking about it. My question was clearly out of curiosity, wonder why I got a neg instead of someone can just simply answer no

        • +2

The fact that you premised the question with a "newbie" tag I would have thought OzBargain would go easy on you. But apparently they are a bunch of salt lords this morning, and it's Friday!

        • +2

Don’t take it out on me though I didn’t downvote. If you haven’t yet make a shopback account, then for each OzBargain deal under ‘go to deal’ there is an icon with ‘cashback’ which allows you to see the difference in cashback between the two.

          • @ATangk: Nah, I didn't mean you =p
But I guess my initial question wasn't clear enough!

As a regular shopper at Amazon AU and eBay, I thought I could get some benefits through a cashback program. I don't have a Shopback account.
I saw this node was about Amazon AU via Shopback. So I was wondering what if I also activate cashrewards at the same time with Shopback before buying something from Amazon.

I will go ahead and experiment this then keep the knowledge to myself instead of asking questions in the future.

            • @Scythic: You don’t ‘activate’ them so much as buy within their webpage. So you MUST clear your cart, then go to shopback or cashrewards, click the link to eBay or amazon through there, then complete your shopping.

You can’t ‘activate’ from one then use the offer from the other, since you need to use the link through the respective cashback vendor.

            • +1

@Scythic: Cashback is part of affiliate marketing. When you click through, there is a marker set on the shopping site that tells it which affiliate referred you. The site pays the affiliate a commission on the sale, and in the case of cashback programs they share that commission with you.

But the shopping site will only consider the last affiliate ID provided so that's why you can't double dip.

Be sure to read the terms for each site also, as some have special conditions (ie Amazon you should only add items to cart after clickthrough)

  • +1

That means you only spend $3 in the long run!

    • +6

Get out of here with your logic.

    • The 'long run' ends on 2 Sep.

  • Thanks had something saved in the cart for $10!

    • +2

Remember, you have to add items to the cart AFTER clicking through ShopBack. Only then your order will be tracked.

      • Thanks I had it in the save for later. Then added it to the cart after clicking on the link via the app

  • Can anyone recommend me a powerboard that has one of two spots with wide spacing on Amazon? Sansai looks like a good fit: but the previous ozbargain posts says its port quality. https://www.amazon.com.au/Sansai-Individually-Switched-Power…

    • -2

It's Amazon, if you don't like it you can always return it

      • +2

The cashback will be cancelled if you refund it

    • just get a power cube?

  • Nice.

  • Went for a case of Frantelle Water for $7.75, $5.20 after cashbacks.

  • Does this apply to pre-orders if they ship after 2nd September?

  • I bought this. I'll likely never play it, but I didn't want to miss out on the bonus cashback.

  • Thanks OP

  • thank you!

  • Bought this AC1300 USB adapter (usually $16+) to replace the one in my kitchen for $6.57 after cashback and the CB bonus:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07DBKDTT1

Reviews may seem bad but I don't think they reflect the product considering it's just another generic adapter that uses the Realtek RTL8812AU chipset. Pretty sure it's just the same OEMs making the ASUS AC56, Linksys WUSB6300, or Netgear A6210 ($70+ pricing for all of these). I have one of these generic ones running back at my parent's place for an HTPC which has given me no problems streaming content. I just downloaded the drivers from Alfa Network as they supposedly had the latest ones available (this was a year or so back so you'd probably have to check driver dates now).

    • Hey was looking for this too for my old laptop (it can do 2.4 GHz only).
I have wishlist on AliExpress at $7 but smaller body.
Is this the cheapest on Amazon?

      • I don't see any cheaper for the same chipset on Amazon. Cheapest I can see for something with the same chipset is $19 on AliExpress. Can you link the one on AE? I'm not sure if it'd be using the 8812AU if it's much smaller either as these ones tend to be quite chunky in size.

        • I gave up linking ae here. Here the spec…USB 2.0 so yours is better?

          Specifications:

          Item Name: Dual-Band WiFi Adapter
          Chipset: RTL8811
          Interface Type: USB2 .0
          Frequency range: 2.4GHz+5GHz
          Transmission Rate: 600Mbps (11N:150Mbps, 11AC:433Mbps)
          Standards: IEEE 802.11AC, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n
          RF Power: 20dBm(MAX)
          Size: 29157mm
          Button: WPS
          Voltage: DC5V±5%
          LED indicator: Link/ACT
          Color: Black
          Encryption: WEP Encryption, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, WPA/WPA2 64/128bit

          • @CyberMurning: Yup. The Amazon one is RTL8812 whereby the 2 designates 2 antennas (2x2) hence its max AC speed is 867. The 8811 has only 1 antenna (1x1) so it would be slower. The 8812 will likely also have better reception….no reason not to go with the 8812 if both are the same price.

            • @Satirical: Ok thanks should pay attention to chipset. I got one D-Link branded for free from buying modem, don't know what chipset but it's good, and bulky too

            • @Satirical: bhahaha someone posted and its gone i am too slow
