For those (like me) who missed out earlier this month on this deal.

It did expire already, but this one expires 30th June, EOFY I guess.

And as trance and dance pointed out, you can remove the help, and it goes down to $788.

$788 if you remove Dell OnCall Help

  • Can get it to $732.84 with moneybackco 7%:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/46710

    • It's actually only down to $737.86 with moneybackco as last I checked they only give you the 7% cashback on the pre-gst amount.

  • Worth spending $2.20 for

    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit (English) Media DVD [add $2.20 or $9/week-1]

even if it's just for resale value.

    • +5

lol, I think the upfront $2.20 option is better than $9 a week!

      Oh Dell…

  • Definitely get the Windows DVD for $2.20.

Note these new Inspirons seem to have the hdd attached to the bottom of the motherboard - you have to take the entire laptop apart to swap it out. :(

Completely overlooked that when I was considering a 15R. I mean it's doable but it's just a pain in the arse - now glad I didn't buy one. On the upside it may have to be disassembled anyway after a year or two of use to give the cooler a clean and perhaps replace the thermal compound, so it's good there are clear videos on disassembly and a readily available service manual for this model.

      • HOLY CRAP THAT'S A PAIN IN THE ARSE!!!
funny how they can make the back cover interchangable yet make changing a simple part of the laptop almost impossible without voiding the warranty.

OP, is DELL's web site so hard read, that
we don't see any spec's with this deal? :-/

    • +4

Love the backhanded insult there. Thank you.

You could have just mentioned that I should put in the specs in the details, and I would have acknowledged that yes I didn't put them in there but I should have.

It's okay, I found his post "so hard read".

  • Anybody have any idea to what the battery life on this will be like?
