Hi Rep, do you have a photo of the actual cross section? The comments mention equivalent to Japanese A5 grading however the example photo looks far off.

      Hello Jonnoyeo,
Pictures on the website are for illustration purpose only. You may find more about Master Kobe in the PDF attached to the product in description part on website.
For more info please contact OBM on 0410 937 813. Thanks!

Hence why a cross section photo of the actual product would be helpful.

The product PDF didn't have any from what I can see either?

Not bashing on the promo, if it's truly A5 I'd be jumping on it, but I have my doubts?

      • +5

I have difficulty accepting that if the product did indeed mirror A5, you would include a photo that shows marbling so vastly inferior to A5.

      • +2

Not using a photo of your product to advertise sounds like misleading and deceptive conduct. Also suggesting this is Kobe beef is also misleading, using quotations doesn’t make it less deceptive.

Oh dear, that was some food-porn right there. It needed to come with a viewer discretion warning

thats fat with beef. not beef with some fat

    • that would take a really special carcass for the marbling to be so even and thin. i had 1 close to it from peter bouchier who was advertising a special carcass from blackmores with A5 marbling has arrived on facebook for $450 a KG but even that isn't as beautiful as the pic.

but from the adverting pic the marbling is 6+ at best. the same grade you can get from costco.

      • how much of waste it would be to freeze, say Costco, steaks? Happy to sacrifice some of the flavour in return for stocked up freezer I if make it Costco.

  • 3kg is away too much, why can you give this great offer to whoever only want to purchase 1kg for first time try.

  • Bah only deliver in Melb only. I would love to give these a try with some friends. Price wise seem good

I bought 1kg of wagyu from these guys on the last deal. Family said it was the best steak we ever cooked at home. 3kg is too much though.

  • Rep - is each steak cryo vacd and able to be froxen? I assume this type of steak is really ONLY suitable to be eaten as an actual steak _couple mins each side, bit of salt and pepper…)
EDIT - also, i seems like you guys dont do any preservative free sausages…..anyone got a suggestion? We buy the cleavers meat range from coles simply because it is preservative free.

  • Hi rep

Are the 3kg lots separated into 1kg portions (cut into 3 or 4) or is it a the whole 3kg as one (then cut into 3 or 4)

    • Hello Weebok15,
If you select whole you will get 3 x 1kg (3packets)
If you select cut into 4 pieces you get 3 x 4pk (3packets)
If you select cut into 3 pieces you get 3 x 3pk (3packets)

Thanks rep. Order placed, looking forward to it!

  • Hey Ranty why even bother with the 2 KG offer with it being virtually on 3 KG offer ?

    • Its so you decide to buy the 3 kg as it is better value. We are all suckers for a deal ;)

  • The standard prices look far too jacked up or I have been paying really low prices. Im looking at the Porterhouse 1kg AA7 on their website which is listed at 165$ per kilo. I regularly get that exact AAco cut in its primal which is around 6kg for $42/kg. The photos for each grade look a bit too good to be true as well.

    • Forced to agree. There's as good to be had much cheaper, and in this case the risk FAR outweighs the possible gain…

    Here's mine.

Last year I bought the 7+ wagyu eye fillet.

    http://imgur.com/a/lh157A5

Eye fillet was nice quality so was happy to buy from them again.

Looking at the bag, it doesn't look like 9+ but I'll reserve my judgement until I open the bag.

If there's any interest I'll post photos of the scotch fillet once I open it.

I'm not sure how I will serve it.

I think it will be too rich as a 330gram steak. The eye fillet was nice but as a steak Wagyu is very rich.

Maybe eat it with rice japanese style/veggies and korean bbq style with lettuce.

I will sear it in my cast iron pan. Pity I don't have my Kamado grill yet, getting one for Christmas.

We'll see if it's worth $100 a kilo. Maybe, maybe not but I'm sure it will taste good.

I should have asked them to cut it into 250gram steaks and cryovac 2 pieces so I can freeze them. Right now they are in 1kg portion which is fairly large.
