maybe try using this first, if the pixel camera is what you after.

Thanks. I feel this is a good option for those who cannot afford Pixel 3 or any other premium mobile for that matter. But, the picture quality cannot be matched with premium mobiles. If one can afford a premium mobile, I think they should get it. Need not be Pixel as almost all premium mobile camera are great these days until and unless if you want the best image possible with mobile camera. I also believe that Pixel 3 is not all upto it's RRP. I used it and I know it. Shame that the prince of Android phones hangs.

Pixel 4 to be announced in 1.5 months. Definitely recommend waiting

    • But it's again going to be ridiculously priced at $1300 or something. I don't understand what Google thinks with Galaxy Note 10 at $1500 and Galaxy S10 at $1350. So, if someone wants stock Android and the greatest pictures, I bekieve it's right time to get it. But this is not a great deal, may be the Harvey Norman $849 for 128GB version was a deal.

I'm not saying wait for the Pixel 4 to buy it, I'm saying wait to see if it's worth the premium, and it is likely the pixel 3 will be cheaper as it's "outdated". Besides, if camera was your first priority, definitely wait for the Pixel 4 for the ultrawide camera, or save some money and get a pixel 3a.

        • Once again I would like to take on Google. They have 'bad' habit of taking previous model out from sales once the new model is available.

Even if camera is someones priority, I would recommend Pixel 4 if they have budget. Otherwise Pixel 3 is still great option at $800 or so. I love wide angle lens and I would rather buy a moment lens becuase phone wide angle lenses tends to stretch the corners of the image. I never cared about the zoom lens.

On top of all these, I hate that square cut out. I would easily give away that zoom lens if I were getting the normal cut out. After all, S10 has already shown how it's done. I wish Samsung releases a stock Android version of S series.

@flame143: After having each pixel I went to s10e, best phone I've had in years. And a price that is still cheaper than this deal

The Pixel 3 has been hovering around this price, and lower, for MONTHS. The time to buy it was a long time ago, not now.

        • I mean not at this price, when even good offer turns up. I got mine from HN, 64GB Pixel plus Home Max for $800.

      • Likley the price of the Pixel 4XL will be closer to $1500, but yeah $1300 for the smaller Pixel 4 sounds about right. I'll wait for an eBay sale after they launch to buy one locally. I also remember Google sending me a 20% off for everything (including the recently launched Pixel 3's last year) not long after the phones were available to buy (probably because I have a Google 1 membership). Worst case scenario, JB Hifi or TGG might do a great deal on a plan with a gift card or something that may entice me.

        • Sounds like a plan!

Pixel 3 XL $930 here and you can take a further 10% off with PONY10.

Also search history on ozbargain shows that both phones have been lower recently and can only go lower with pixel 4 coming out soon.

  • It's interesting seeing the shift in attitude towards Google smartphones from say a year ago to now, although there's still a percentage of members that will still swear black and blue to get a Samsung equivalent instead, although most are starting to see the Pixel for what it really is.

    • The Samsung bloatware just ruins their phones. Alas flashing/rooting voids warranty.
