    What is this

    • +37

A Complete collection of reverb drum machines

    • +7

Reverb Drum Machine Collection contains WAV files of single hits, loops, and an Ableton Live 9 drum rack and MIDI template.

It's basically just a collection of sampled drum sounds from 53 analog drum machines in digital format.

Take Vol 05 for example, it comes with:

      Ableton Live Project
      3 Clap
      8 Crash
      13 Hat
      55 Kick
      7 Ride
      3 Rim Shot
      54 Snare
      57 Tom
      4 Loops

Ideally you'll need Ableton Live to run the drum machines but most people who produce their own music would only be after the WAV files to add to their sample library.

      • +2

Nah you don't need Ableton. There are plenty of other applications and vst plugins out there that can use this; for example Battery (by Native Instruments).

        • +1

          Oh I didn't know that!

I've only dabbled with Ableton on a limited basis and never really used the plugin side of things.

Good to know that it can be used on other DAWs.

Friend, thanks. Nothing particularly unique but a great collection.

  • +2

Don't really know what is it, but free things are always welcome in my list 😅
    Thanks OP

    • What about free STD?

      • "You" gotta enjoy that too.

      • @Enjj0y Can download it or it's on you? =D

If they're giving away something "valued at" $1380 for free then it was never worth that to begin with.

I'm sure someone will get some use out of it though.

    • In the 80s this would have been worth something.

    • you'd just buy the ones you wanted for a couple bucks. that's why it's "valued" at $1380 - no one expects you to buy all of them.

  • download only?

    • +1

      It appears so

    • +9

shipping is $1380 for physical copy.

    WAV format.

Johnnie M tells you how to do it:

The fastest way is to extract the 1.4GB file to your samples folder. It will put all the zip files there. Then select them all and right click and select extract here from the menu.

How much space do I need in my garage to set up all of these drum…machines?

    • +2

Depends what storage medium you use. You could use as little as 165mm³ if you sore it on a microSD card however I think a regular SD card could be better at 1613mm³ as it isn't as easy to lose.

  • Thanks Issun. Doof doof :D

Literally said to myself yesterday that I was going to start building my drum sample collection. Perfect timing, thanks OP.

The most significant machines of all time are now at your fingertips.

    FOR FREE !!!

IMO, I would says bitcoin, because it is a trust-machine that solves the limitation of gold in 21st century.

    • +1

Clearly the correct answer is "the wheel", but also clearly the context here is "drum machines".

    • Not sure why downvoted when Bitcoin is the correct answer :-)

      • +2

Why would you compare an algorithm to a drum machine ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • I have no clue as well but thanks for sharing OP.

  • Nice, can finally abuse my mobile data allowance.

  • looks to be worth alot of money

It's only worth what people are willing to pay.

i actually have one of these drum machines ….the 80s sequential circuits drumtrack :D
….some really nice looking retro machines if you scroll thru the link

    • +1

Yes I was really appreciating their aesthetics as a huge fan of retro technology :)

    • +1

      Nice. I have a Roland TR-33. Similar to the TR-77 (1972)

  • You can set these as your ring tone like when partner calls "drum roll" when secret lover calls "clap clap" etc…

  • +1

can i put these noises on an actual digital drum kit?

    • I'm not knowledgeable in either of those topics but I would reckon it's possible.

    • When I had a Yamaha electric kit even just a couple of years ago the technology still didn't really allow it (like 1mb onboard storage) so would depend on whether they have realised how ridiculous the limitation is yet

      • +2

My midi controller takes floppy discs, so maybe I can fit one clap.

        • I have some floppies if you want to get a rift. Might be more trouble than it's worth removing one floppy and putting the next one in, and the next…

Note these are not the floppy floppies, they are the rigid floppies.

        • Thank you for the response! ill have to see on my drum kit what sort of media it takes (fingers crossed its not floppy lol)

      • your kidding me lol. 1mb (laughs out loud)

    • I can connect my kid's kit to his computer and use it as a MIDI controller. The computer outputs the sound. Professionals will probably tell you there's too much of a delay between the hit and the sound. But it works.

      • have any idea what sort of delay we are talking?

        • +4

I can't hear any delay. If you're Phil Collins you can probably quantify it and be horrified. As an amateur it's fun to make the bass drum squeal like a pig.

  • Highly marked up price and now totally free. I wonder if it’s ever sold at this price.

  • +1

You can select the individual kit sample packs from the links. I downloaded the 808 pack and had a look / listen; for the bass drum, for example, there are a number of different samples with different control settings, and the control settings are documented as part of the WAV file name. Also the signal chain for recording of the samples is listed on each Reverb page; there is no point in downloading samples that are badly or unprofessionally recorded. So, IMO, this is very good value and worth it for anyone looking to start a sample library.

  • 808s or nothing

  • Nice find. Thanks for sharing

  • Still haven't ozbargained yet?
