It's actually the other way around. iPad Pro copied the Tab S4 which released before the Pro.
Tab S5e and S6 are based on S4.

yup fair enough but what if I need to charge and listen simultaneously with my very expensive audiophile headphones? i'm just expressing my disappointment is that worth a down vote? surely they can fit it in a tablet. btw I don't have expensive headphones but what if?

It's a very good price for the 256GB Wifi. This is actually cheaper than they are selling the S4 256GB Wifi right now ($943.20). Crazy.
And it's a bigger discount than the 4G.
No preorder bonus hurts it though. If they threw in the keyboard cover as a preorder bonus, I'd take the upgrade (I'm on an S4 and don't need this). The case itself is likely to be over $200. It's $180 USD.

That's the going rate for an official keyboard cover these days. Surface and iPad are no cheaper. The fattest margins come from accessories.
It's not as bad as I expected since the US MSRP is $180. Then you have to do a currency conversion, add GST, and Aussie tax. It's actually cheaper than what Americans have to pay for it.

You're right. Same price as S4's cover. Reasonable price, but expensive like all keyboard covers.
WiFi model is a good price - the 4G one is only $100 less than pre-order price at Officeworks.
Now day, company are charging a bit much for 4G, even when I had my S3 4G, I never use it, given Wifi is available everywhere these day, also I tether with my Phone, since there is no much data to use.
I really want to upgrade from my s5e to the s6 … but $1199 is a fair bit of cash when I like to upgrade every 12 months.
But, the s5e is my only computer with Samsung Dex, so perhaps I can justify.

Anyone know why I can't sign up to the store using an "@edumail.vic.gov.au" (teacher account, sent the verification email through multiple times but it's not showing up)? I know it doesn't end in ".edu", but surely Samsung must have @edumail flagged as the email accounts of teachers in Victoria. I've already emailed them but haven't heard back in a while

I was just about to pull the trigger.. had it in my cart at 1am, when I went back to it this morning it went back up to $1039. I find it weird how they decide to end the discount a day before the preorder ends. They'll miss out on all the last-minute buys.
I just had a chat on the website, guy insisted he couldn't do anything. Also said it was $8xx weeks ago when it was from weeks ago until today. Next option is buy 7% discounted gift cards, pre-order then get some tax back at TRS in a month.
I wonder if they put it back up now that nearly all the stores would be running low on stock for pre-orders?
