      Need an edu.au address.

      • The issue is that in NSW school addresses are @education.nsw.gov.au

You can also get the s6 wifi 128gb plus the keyboard?

    • Good point, I wasn't planning on getting the keyboard so it didn't cross my mind. I'll update it, thanks!

  • Is this the snapdragon or exynos processor?

    • Samsung doesn't make exynos version on this tablet

  • Can anyone point why they are better or are they better than iPads?

    • Have a look on YouTube, plenty of great videos and comparisons

They’re not better than an iPad Pro in terms of speed, responsive touch of the pen, software updates for a long time. But the iPad Pro is also much more expensive roughly $600-800 something more than this deal with the keyboard and pen. Samsung includes the pen. Better than a standard iPad? Yeah most likely.

This is better served as a laptop replacement for SOME functions (very few) a student/worker who does light word processing, mail, calendars, browsing.

For that. This serves well with the keyboard. But use DEX. Android and even iPadOS for that matter just haven’t gotten tablet/pc experience right. It’s not meant to be a replacement for your PC. Yet they still try. If you’re trying to replace a laptop completely. This isn’t it you’ll miss windows/OS X/Linux. If you’re trying to do mostly tablet. Some laptop. This may work ok.

Much as I hate apple products, The IPAD still the best. Come on Sammy make a good tablet then I would convert.

I reckon it’s to do with the os optimizations, Android has been lackluster in the tablet development.

    • Agree..

I'm a huge Android fan, but the Android tablet battery life does not even compare to iPad.

      • This is what DigitalTrends has to say about the battery:

The Galaxy Tab S6 can get you through a hard day of work. I used it for four hours straight on a plane and the battery dipped to just 60 percent. Add a few more hours of use at my hotel room, and the tablet was at 30 percent before it was time for bed.

If you plan on using this tablet non-stop from 9 to 5 p.m., it will last the whole time if you’re not gaming or using processor-intensive apps — but it won’t last much longer. I’ve had a similar experience with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. While this performance is fine, it doesn’t quite hold up to Samsung’s claim of 15 hours of battery life.

In our standard video playback battery test, where we play a 1080p YouTube video over Wi-Fi with the screen brightness at maximum, the Galaxy Tab S6 lasted 11 hours and 1 minute. That’s better than the slightly more affordable iPad Air, which took 6 hours and 17 minutes to drain.

I think most people will be more than happy with battery life on the Tab S6. Juicing it back up isn’t notably fast though, taking a little more than 2 hours to go from zero to 100.

    • Have you tried DEX mode on the new Tabs? It's good..

      • DEX is the only option for using the keyboard. It’s OK. But the iPad Pro is something else altogether. iPadOS is getting useful.

        • You can still use DEX without the keyboard and can also do tablet mode with a keyboard - switchable on the tablets and still very usable.

@bchliu: Sure it’s useable but with a keyboard it’s actually the closest to a proper desktop feel is what I meant. DEX is probably Samsung’s best attempt at making the mobile phone a PC too.

@checkingthisout: Yeah.. That's why I've ditched my laptop with a Note 8 (now 10 plus) and a Lapdock using DEX. I love it but do still have to Remote into a desktop for the odd Windows based task.

              • @bchliu: You can run Ubuntu within DEX. DEX is actually innovation in the works. It’s a sleeping dragon.

                • @checkingthisout: Yeah.. except it didn't make it to the Note 8 and it's not out yet for the Note 10 at the moment. lol.

                  Have to wait for it..

                  • @bchliu: I believe it is now available on the Note 10 now, saw a friend using it on his s10.

                    • @eggaz: It's on the S10 but Samsung has officially discontinued Linux on DEX for Android 10 (and Note 10 as well). Email came out on Friday to announce this and I was shattered. :(

Oh well.. Samsung constantly screws things up for the worse. This is just another example of them doing this.

AHHHHH NOOOOOOO! I work in education and my wife and I pre-ordered her one through Harvey Norman to get the free upgrade… and then this deal comes along.

She is loving it for what it's worth, using it for drawing, emailing, and doing up quotes/invoices for her small business. Couldn't justify the extra cost of the iPad pro (and then having to buy the pen on top of that) and the iPad Air didn't really impress her. She highly recommends it.

    • Yeah same here. I feel like I've lost $150! Can anything be done about it? Any ideas?

      • Buy it again through the store and then take the new one back to retailer unopened for a full refund?

Just checked and this deal is still working for me.

  • Judging by the terms and conditions for the galaxy buds, if you use this promo code, you aren't eligible for the free pair of galaxy buds right?

    • I'm curious to know this too. The t&c says not available in conjunction with other promotion, but curious if anyone has purchased and claimed?
