    Australia's first Chromecast built-in TV

Must be an old TV then?

    • That's what I was thinking

    • I've had a chromecast built in TV since 2015…. if this is true, its gonna be chromecast 1 and the old version of Android… and I doubt it'd be 4k…
      misleading me thinks.

  • $135 Shipping to any area in Brisbane :I
    oh my…

Wasn't going to buy one but was curious lol

Geez who do they think they are, HN?

  • +1

They are trying to compete with Amazon with a club you pay for that only delivers selective goods !

    • Yes, except they don't have the range, the selection, the reputation, or the extra benefits (prime and books) that Amazon have.

    Brightness: Lumens

…it emits some light, but not telling us how much?

    • +4

      It emits lumens !!!

That is all I needed to know, bought 4. Thanks jv.

  • Soniq is sketchy with there product specs. However if you email them requesting further details they will provide it.

So you can essentially get it for $799 with the Catch Coles 20% off gift cards?

    • Probably, didn't even think of that! Those cards are available tomorrow?

    • No max 5 X $50 usage saves a extra $50 . Another Catch bonus going if you have a .edu email save 10% is better .

    • Available now. Still cheap

      • No, Catch only allows the use of 5 gift cards max. when checking out.

        • Yeh just read that myself too. Correct

  • how come catch can sell so cheap whats the catch?

    • Says only supports 30Hz refresh at 4k.

      • what's the 100Hz for then?

  • +2

    Only supports 4K 30hz, not 60hz, apparently.

    • +1

      30hz @ 4k is terrible.

  • I bought 3 weeks back for $1099 plus delivery, i love it its very fast inbuild chromecast, but its a big screen. too big lol.

and i did register for 3 years warranty on soniq website.

  • Wow, this is cheap for 75"

  • Have JB-Hifi stopped doing Soniq TVs?

    • +2

They gave them the ass saying there is no room for a cheap brand and then a couple months later ranges Ffalcon as their cheap option.. also ranged the same brand in Good Guys

      • No Soniqs at JB makes me sad. I used to like those cheap TVs presence over there. I always felt like they were within my reach if I wanted.

      • I saw that brand the other day. Was wondering what the first 'F' would stand for.

  • Why couldn't they have been Visio of Australia? Instead they are just rubbish

    • Soniq aren't that bad. Their service is pretty good compared to some high end brands. They just use cheaper parts. I've had a 42" Sonia 3DTV for over 10 years. Never had a problem. It uses the old LG screen. Only thing shit about them is the old UI. It's slow and just bad

  • Anyone have any idea whether these take 30+ seconds to turn on?

I have an older 65" model that I use with a Mi TV and that's my main gripe… that and the lack of HDMI CEC.

  • I grabbed one of the last from JbHifi for $990 about 2 months ago.

Absolutely exceeded expectations in every aspect for a such a cheap 75 inch.

Be warned, the chromecast built in has a horrible picture quality, no idea why they would do this?

I use a chromecast ultra and the picture is bloody awesome.

  • It's $1098 on the link.

    • Did you read the red highlighted letters in the title?

      • -1
