Old deal (#1 #2 #3) that recently came back. Basically you can purchase the following New Balance Online vouchers at Groupon:

  • $50 to spend online ($99 minimum spend) for $5
  • $100 to spend online ($199 minimum spend) for $10

Some noteworthy fine print:

  • Cannot combine with other New Balance coupon code
  • Valid for full-priced items only
  • Redeem by 27 Oct 2019

However I suspect that you should be able to combine AmEx statement credit and cashback offers at New Balance (don't quote me on that).

For buying shoes or apparels at New Balance, it's either hunting for clearance products (i.e. this deal), or wait for 40% off Full Priced Items (i.e. this and this), and the last 50% off full priced items was almost 15 months ago I am not sure whether they are going to have one this year.

However the reason I am posting this is — for $100 off $200 (at $10 cost), it brings down the cost of New Balance FuelCell Rebel to $110 delivered — probably the best running shoes at New Balance right now. Too bad only the black colourway is currently available.

How does the best running shoes at New Balance compare with the best running shoes from ASICS, Adidas etc.

I have several running shoes already, but damn that Fuelcell looks good

I use this site https://runrepeat.com/ gives decent comparisons on most shoes. But reviews can only do so much as personal preferences aren't always the same.

Was looking for ages at replacing my worn out New Balance Vazee Rush V2's, ended up finding a supplier with stock and bought more! Had tested Hoka's On Runnings, Brooks, Asics but i just preferred the feel and fit of the Rush V2.

Note I'm not a fast runner, only been running about 18months at parkrun and some other local runs. Getting close to sub 20 5k.

      • Getting close to sub 20 5k.

        That's fast!

        • I have a 12y/o daughter that i need to keep up with!

Don't use RunRepeat — it auto-aggregates reviews from sources that aren't even runners.

Here's one review that got posted recently at Road Trail Run comparing 31 current models from various brands. Basically, nothing really stands out from Asics (haven't really innovated over the last decade) and Adidas (too many lifestyle shoes masquerading as running shoes, i.e. UltraBoost).

On the other hand I am not fast either so probably not good enough for FuelCell Rebel (also aiming for 20min 5k this year).

I use RunRepeat just to compare the stats of shoes, weight, drop, etc. Not for reviews.

      • cheers.
        Amex offer expires tomorrow.
Ended up getting 1080 v9 plus socks to make it $199, think I need cushioning more than speed, and couple reviews say Fuelcell isn't for easy runs, and some care should be taken on wet surfaces.
        Total was $110 - $20 Amex. Deal!

        • The 1080v9 is a brilliant shoe. I've run everything from Parkruns (19min) to a Marathon in them - very versatile shoe and an absolute steal for $100.
Sadly NB doesn't currently have stock of the FuelCell Rebel in my size; I've had my eye on this one since it was released.

      • I know they aggregate reviews but they also link to the individual reviewers sites such as Road Trail Run.
But its good to get more detail on a particular shoe.

Was in sole motive Melbourne few weeks back and when i asked more details the guy brought up runrepeat to get specs lol

Agree that it's a great site to get the specs for all the running shoes especially when the brand's own product pages aren't making them obvious. Just that the reviews and rating score can often be deceiving.

  • Is it only for full priced product? Or including for clearance as well?

    Thanks OP.
I bought the $10 coupon, didn't work on "Clearance Items" but it'll work on the 20% discounted price.
Purchased it from the Cashrewards app, paid with AMEX. Got notification from both straight away.
