Apparently has been going for some time but I hadn't noticed, saw a sign up at Waurn Ponds for this. Looks like it's at quite a few stores.

Any two pairs of glasses with single vision lenses from $249 range or above can be had for $199 - so a maximum saving of $200 if you get two from the $399 range. Other lens styles and treatments cost extra.

I know not everyone likes Specsavers for glasses. Personally, for my simple prescription I've been happy with what I've gotten (even when I got a cheap temporary $39 pair).

Obviously Zenni and etc. are cheaper (hello, $6.95 glasses!), but here you can try on the glasses and see if they fit and suit as well as get some fancy brand names if that's what you're into.

If you need an eye test, you can book online (the stores I checked for appointments seemed to have openings left), otherwise if you have had an eye test at Specsavers and have a prescription you can get them to make them to that (they can retrieve it instore even if you go to a store that isn't the one you got the test done at), or if you bring in your own prescription from elsewhere I don't see why they wouldn't be willing to make glasses up for you with that.

Some stores are offering this deal but are not open tomorrow, they are not listed below.

Terms and conditions:

Offer available in store at Selected Specsavers stores and applies to all frames storewide from the $199 range or above. Lens upgrades available at an extra cost. Both pairs must have same prescription. Use with other offers restricted. Offer valid from 19 to 1 September 2019.

  • Then there is extra's coated lenses,blue light,…

    • extra $55 :) cost me this much today….

    • I said yes to almost everything once to the point where the salesperson said "you probably don't need this and that".

Next time I went in I just got the bog standard lenses. Seems to work just fine.

      • I get the standard lenses as well - unless they're doing free (or cheap) polarisation for sunglasses which really does help.

    • wehn they have a sale coatings and tints get included.

Normal pricing as far as I can tell.

I've been buying glasses from Zenni. Cheap, good quality and the extras are affordable such as engraving, sunglass clipons, 3d movie clipons, etc. Only issue is that you have to get the legs adjusted locally to better fit the head and ears.

  • Thanks for this as I really did need a new eye test and I happen to have an extra $200-300 atm. I am down to my last frame at the moment which was a tight cheap one I got online that I was never able to get adjusted right. Got the last appointment at the one closest doing the deal :D

  • Never again Specsavers - even remade glasses were worse than the $20 prescription glasses bought directly from china via Aliexpress

    • wow didnt know you can do that…

    • Do you have a link?

Would be keen to see them.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32965332880.html - I bought a few - all are OK but I'm using these daily for work…single vision with anti blue ray listed at $20US at the moment but there are coupons available….just fill in your own prescription details..

        • Thanks… But the link unfortunately shows the item is longer available.

          • @movieman: Odd - seems ok to for me but the price is more than I paid a couple of months ago - a quick search of aliexpress and you will find lots of prescription glasses for sale.

No, this is a promotion where all frames (even from 249/299 or other higher prices) are $199. They still have the 199 range and lower but those are unchanged by this promo.

  • Thanks Op booked an appointment

    • worked a charm got the 2x $300 for $199 and an extra $70 but ultra clear

  • Oh, damn this expires tomorrow :(

Or you could try Dresden Vision (www.dresden.vision) - local company, made in Australia, and made while you wait. $59 per pair!

Hadn't seen this before - thanks for the heads-up! :-)

  • I’m at Belmont store and the store knows nothing about any offer ($249 becomes $199) that ends today. I don’t know what to say to them

    • Moonee Ponds said it’s on certain sites but it’s not available anymore

    • They had it on at Glendale when I walked past today
