  • Reputable? Tempted.

  • 7 sold but 100% feedback over 70k..hmm worth a gamble?

  • If you buy two of these, it comes to $87.96 each. However these are the Lexar 512GB MicroSDXC https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lexar-MicroSD-Card-512GB-High-Pe…

    • Showing Buy 2 - 108.85 each?

      • use PEACHY15 ———_______———-

        • Cool thanks! It's actually 92.5 that way, I think you calculated as 20% off instead of 15

    • I'm down to go halves with someone if anyone can work out how to get the $87.96 price?

    • The Lexar have an A2 class rating as well, for better app performance.
I've found this helps a lot with photo gallery displaying thumb nails quickly.

      • Where did you find info about the Lexar A2 card? Been interested in their 512gb one for a while now…

      • +1

Write speed up to 70mbps seems lower than 90mbps of EVO+ though

        • App performance is also measured using random data, not just sustained throughput. This gives the feeling of much greater speed when using the card.
Sustained throughput is only useful when copying data to or from the card to another location.

You can see more info here about the metrics used for application performance ratings

  • Pretty sure this is the best price ever

  • Gotta start questioning hoarding behaviour, when you need HUGE amounts of data at hand at all times. It's not getting regularly read.

    • +5

This is like a library of 30 switch games, chill.

        On microsd?
        Pfft. HDD.

    • This is a good point. But it allows you to shoot 4K video which uses up a lot more space than 1080p which is 1/4 its resolution.

I once had a 64GB samsung evo which I used as a backup that was filled with years and years of old photos. Lasted only 4 months. One day it just decided to stop working and everything got corrupted. Luckily I had the receipt to claim a replacement but at the expense of those priceless photos.

That day I learned my lesson and have multiple backups since.

    • Use google photos. Never gona loose any pic.

      • But you will suffer quality loss unless you pay. Google stores photos in much lower resolution on free plans.

        • Ryt but I think its better to hav photos in low res, instead of not having thm at all :)

        1. There's no privacy with Google photos.
        2. It's connected to your Google account which they can delete at anytime.
        • I think celebrities etc should be worried in privacy aspect. Any private photos shall definately b not uploaded on any cloud though.
Google ll never simple delete any1s account. They ll give atleast 3months notice to download ur photis, b4 they delete it. As was done with picasa as i remember.

Remember: if it's your only copy, it's not a backup. A backup is your 2nd copy :)

        well said

  • Not working for me, AU$154.90 including postage

    • It works for me.

      Original Price: $139.95
Discount Price: $118.96 (After applying discount code + free postage)

  • Remember when these were close to $500 just at the start of the year ?

    • Yeah and it wont be long and these will be double digits, when they do it will be an insta-buy from me. This is still a fantastic price.

    • they were never 500 this year.

Samsung had them for $350 RRP late last year when they were giving them away.

Seller seems to be absolutely reputable.

I just worry that they might have bought these cards wholesale (in bulk) from a non-reputable seller, who sold them fakes.

Normally I wouldn't really care, but given how widespread these fakes are (and the cost to replace a fake) that I question pretty much all sellers, other than direct from Samsung (I'm not even sure you can even buy direct though).

I know it's paranoid, but you know what they say 'just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean that you're wrong' lol.

I'd love to pull the trigger on one or two of these, but I just remembered losing all my backups due to a faulty drive (on what I assume was a genuine Seagate bought from a major Australian retailer), and I can't do it.

Could someone possibly run a test on one of these when you get one, so we know that they're genuine?

    Thanks.

    • +2

Will do! I always run a test when I buy micro SD cards anyway, happy to let you know how it goes.

      • Thanks mate! I really appreciate that.

Ps. I guess if it did turn out to be fake, you could always return it (given how highly rated the seller is, they probably offer great support).

  • +1

V temtping but Keeping my proimise to myself, not gona pull the trigher till its 2 digit.

  • +2

    Cmon sub $100

  • Waiting for 1tb card, probably cost the same as this in a years time

    • What takes a 1TB card?

      Cameras?

      • phones

        • Crikey, that's a lot of phone space.

Must be for one of the latest models.

  • How's Lexar 633x 512GB ($92.5) compared? It's with lower max writing speed of 70mb/ps however A2 which EVO+ doesn't have.
Also *lifetime warranty (up to 10 years for countries not recognizing lifetime warranty - does Australia do?)

    • If it says lifetime they'd have to honour it.

Although I don't know what they mean by "lifetime".

I assume they mean the 'expected' lifetime of the card, rather than our lifetime (based on whatever number of read/write cycles it's specified for).

      • +2

Based on official website it's As long as owned by original purchaser
        I assume it's holder's lifetime

        • I think you're right.

But I think the following warranty term effectively limits the warranty to a period of several years:

"A refund would be the purchase price less any rebates or the fair market value, whichever is lower"

Because if they choose to refund an amount equal to "fair market value" the market price for the card will have dropped significantly after a few years.

And this term applies to all their cards.

Ps. I like how they listed the warranty periods for different models in one table, because it gives me an idea of what the manufacturer thinks about the reliability of their different models.

With the lower priced cards being possibly less reliable than the warranty period would suggest, as Lexar can afford to be more generous with their warranty periods on cheapest units because it'd be a lot cheaper to replace or refund them.

Of course, it's pure speculation on my part.

    • What is your use case?
Personally I prefer A2 rated cars as they feel much snappier when searching or browsing old photos, or if you have music or audio books stored on the card. The random read performance is much higher on A2 cards and when you have app data (eg photos or audio books) on the card, that data loads MUCH quicker.

      • I need an A2 card as I'll be formatting/mounting it as internal storage.

    • As for the 633x professional, in Australia, it'll be limited to 10 years from purchase next year:

"As long as owned by original purchaser (10-year limited warranty from purchase outside of the Americas after 12/31/2019)."

  • Tempted but I still have a spare 400GB unopened.

I've stopped buying spares. By the time I need to use it, it will have been cheaper, or something bigger is available for the same price.

  • I remember thinking I was a tech guru when I bought a 256MB SanDisk USB drive. Everyone else had a measly 32MB pittance.

    • +1

Lolz … u must had walked with a great attitude among ur friends tht tym 😋

  • Anyone considering Lexar products should think twice about trusting their data to a non-reputable Chinese brand!
