Sony 65" A8G OLED 4K Ultra HD Android TV (Box Damaged) $3799 Delivered @ Sony eBay

PILOT20

Original Coupon Deal

If you don't mind box damaged, it is the cheapest price for this 65" Oled from sony so far.

Wondering between LG C9 with HDMI 2.1 or Sony A8G with Surface Acoustic.
Both with 40 watts Speaker but Sony doesn't need an extra soundbar to me.
Both are LG Panel while Sony's X1 processor is a little bit better than LG's a9 2nd from reviews.
As far as I know, HDMI 2.1 is for 8K and high fresh rate TVs and its a higher cost to get extra accessories.
I got one for myself and share this deal with you.

There are also A8F and A9F with the same coupon and deals but they are refurbished and 2018 models

Knowing how easy it is for OLED panels to develop issues just transporting from the store to the home, I'd be concerned about these boxed damaged units being a bit of a lottery

      Hi,
It comes with sony warranty and return policy within 30 days.

      • I bought similar TV from sony last year, Warranty by Sony is a Joke. ALready lodged a complaint to Consumer affairs and they recommended me to go to VCAT as Sony is not responding to them either.

        • I'm off buying Sony now. My last TV was a Sony. Android Boot Loop. Out of warranty by 6 months. Left me with a sour taste. Reset didn't work.

          • @JeffKennett: It may have been out of warranty but under Australian Consumer law you would still be covered to have this fixed or replaced. Do some homework & you may get it sorted out.

      • My experience with OLED tvs and OLED phone screens that have been knocked around a bit is that they can start off with intermittent issues that appear at random (i.e. happens when you don't want it to, but not when you do want it to, like when you're trying to claim under warranty lol).

And except for one case, all of those faults evolved over time in unpredictable ways (developing lines, flicker, fuzz, black spots, strobing rainbow colours etc.)

After reading a few forums, I personally wouldn't buy a potentially damaged OLED tv unless the warranty was at least 6 months. Outside of warranty if you have panel issues, replacing the panel can be nearly as expensive as the TV itself.

        • Oh, I just saw that the return period is 30 days and the warranty is 12 months. Ignore my last comment :P

      • Simplest Answer for his concern.

They're not damaged boxes, they say this to avoid retailers complaining.

Out of all damaged box items I've purchased only one had a slightly crushed box and that was an older model action camera.

Agreed. Beautiful screens - incredibly easy to damage. Inspect very thoroughly upon receival, defects might not be apparent until you fire it up.

Mine got delivered by two delivery people and it was fine, these things have a decent amount of protection in the box

ah tis that season where the LG and Sony OLED models will start popping up on sale all over the place :)

    • Just find it hard for me to justify spending so much on a TV…

      • I was the same but I ended up grabbing a B8 for $1200 cheaper than this deal and very glad I did, loving it. My last upgrade was almost a decade ago so don't mind spending up if you're going to get plenty of years use.

I ordered this the last time Sony had a sale and even though it was advertised as box-damaged, the box wasn't. Actually there was no damage what so ever…

With micro LED TV’s coming, and Samsung to start making OLED screens, which they will call QD-OLED, price drop for LG panel OLEDs are expected with competition. If you need one now, with a good warranty on top of the free delivery from a respected brand, this is an absolutely great deal. Nice post OP.

    • Can I call u professor LED? Thank you for such deep study.

      • Dude, try not to take it personally when people critique your deal… that's what makes this place great….

It might be a great price, but I think this hasn't blown up because the market for this top-end TV is small.

        • I think you misunderstood wt I mean bro I apologize. I am ok with this deal cause I am moving and really need a new TV. Currently I only have a projector.
Better OLED deals should be with older models of LG and Sony. Or go some chinese brand from my hometown like Hisense and TCL, they are also great with LG panels with their own processors.

    • BTW, they mentioned "Samsung won’t throw out its current LED, QLED, or Micro-LED ranges for a single panel technology, so it’s likely we’ll see a QD-OLED model arrive in a couple of years’ time, but probably not before 2021. "

From a Chinese forum I read that 2020 will be a great year for TV sales cause the 2020 Olympic games will be held and its a good time point for the upgrade.

  • The current top tier qled still isn't a match for OLED , if your picky that is

    • I am not sure. Samsungs QLED is not cheap at all especially the Q90R models. They are also great.

The very top ones are probably better than last years OLEDs. Not sure about this years though.

  • DaMaGEd BOx saLe people still fall for that line lol

  • Anyone received their Box damaged TC yet, I got mine on Friday and it has no remote control or stand for the TV. I got in contact with Sony and I had to send them pictures of proof!! Waiting to hear back from them

  • Be careful. Bought a X95G 65" last week. Using ebay code got it for $2599 - box damaged - seemed worth the risk for $400 off local prices @$2999, RRP $3499.

    2 issues.

    1. The del date was given as wed 18th ( 7 days). The provided TOLL con number did not become active. Waited for 4 days. Decided to call them. "Oh it was sent Border Exress". That explains the "no-one home" note left by BE on Friday 13th. Anyway - successfully del Tue 17th.

    2. Today Thu 19th, TGG, JB and SONY all now selling new stock undamaged for $2495. Boy do I feel like a goose. Last time for me with Sony Ebay.
