[eBay Plus] Dell U2419HC UltraSharp 24" USB-C Monitor $327.25 Delivered @ Shopping Express eBay

130
PEACHY15

Thought this was a pretty good deal that would warrant a seperate post. RRP is $589 on the Dell website but you can snap up this bargain for just over $327.

Best thing about this monitor is it has a USB-C port which connects newer MacBooks and charges them as well.

I feel like $324 for an FHD 24" is kind of… hard to accept in 2019. Even though it might have type-c etc.

Granted I'm at 4k on that $240 Acer 28" right now.

    • Their 27 Ultrasharps retail for about 900, and are on sale very regularly for about 6-700. I have one which I picked up from the Outlet for about 350, which I think is reasonable for the quality of monitor that it is. Dell's monitors are overpriced imo.

      • Overpriced RRP, pretty damn good on sale though - especially the "UltraSharp" range.

      • What's the address of the outlet? Could not find it on Google map

Great for laptops and clutter. Can save $$$ on proper USB-C power adapters and cable.

Unless you really want the USB-C thing you can do far better at the Dell Outlet.

Why pay a premium for USB-C when you can just get a USB-C > HDMI/DP/DVI adapter separately and pay for a better screen?

    • Does this adapter charge the laptop at the same time thereby removing the need to plug in a wall charger? Because that's the selling point with this USB-C monitor. USB-C is very convenient for my Dell work laptop which otherwise has a massive power brick.

      • yep. genuine USB-C monitors will/can charge your laptop via pass-through power providing the draw is sufficient. I'm actually looking for a USB-C monitor for my Macbook Pro right now to clear up 1 port.

Edit: reading the specs its only a 17.5w Power draw…unless im reading it wrong…try this for a similar starting price https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/dell-p-series-27-169-1920x1080-…

        • This monitor does charge a MacBook Pro at 65W, I have one. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

@gc9: oh does it?! interesting slowly opens wallet

Yep, up to 65W. I have this monitor, and it also provides 4x USB-A ports on the monitor itself through that same single USB-C cable connection.

  • The P2419HC (also has type-c) version has been popping up on the Dell factory outlet site semi-regularly, new for $219.

    • There are also P2419H, wonder what the difference is with and without C?

      • +1

H doesn't have USB-C but has VGA input

  • Off-topic, how much would I be able to sell my u2414h online?

    • About $100. They don't go for much (tried selling mine).

    • Hey I would be keen in taking the u2414h off you if it's in good condition

  • I'm wondering why this monitor costs so much.

    • It costs a lot as its Dell's business performance line so expect good built quality great warranty IPS and all the modern connects.

      Corporates love 'em.

Be that as it may you pay for that with 60hz std res. and a generally boring spec.

  • Recently bought this monitor for $389 from mwave as I was sick of waiting for a deal and working on a tiny tablet screen at home. My previous Dell ultrasharp monitor had been rock solid for 7 years (no issues with backlight dimming and colours were more accurate than anything else in the same price range for photo editing) but the lack of up to date ports finally meant it needed replacing.

Main pros for buying this one were the USB-C to remove the need for a power adapter for my Acer Switch 5 and output to a monitor in 1 cable. Another useful feature is the DisplayPort input and output, so I could daisy chain my existing monitor as a 2nd monitor without the need for a 2nd monitor output from a device.

If I didn't have the USB-C requirement, there were far better priced options.
