    Thanks Op!

  • Is there a direct link?

    • +9

The one on the OP is the direct link. This is not an e-book. It is a physical copy that will be mailed to your address. The link takes you directly to the form to fill out your address.

    Thanks OP.

Hadn't grown a thing in my life until I tried a couple of tomato plants last year and now I'm hooked and scaling up production lol.

    Excellent find… ordered!

Hope it comes through, this isn't just one of those "oh its free so I'll order it and never use it".
    I actually want it!

    • +1

I've been ordering seeds from them for a few years and they're a really nice family-style company. I received my first guide years ago and it was fairly prompt for snail-mail.

      • Good stuff. I'm happy to support local business when I can… so if the book is the goods I'll be sure to buy from them in the future.

        Cheers.

Chemical free? So there's nothing in it!

    • +9

They're obviously implying unwanted chemicals. Don't be so pedantic.

      • It's a joke, just as you called that person "pedantic", others might call you "humourless".

Pretty sure these guys are mostly heirloom stuff too. (Win)
A similar mob closer to Melbourne is Diggers. https://www.diggers.com.au/

    • mostly heirloom stuff

      ???

Traditional non-hybridised or GM'd seeds. So you get a tastier crop and can save the seeds for next year.

        • So you get a tastier crop and can save the seeds for next year.

          I'm drooling.

But, How many trees were cut down to print all these books .
They should be offering it as an e-book to save impacting on environment (Which I though was a reason why people do entirely organic gardening).
Free is free, but I would rather an ebook form. Also saves them on post (and our eco-footprint is reduced of course, what with trucks having to drive paper mail to us etc)

I'm assuming this is the info on the website anyway for this 48 page booklet so I'll pass.
Also, is it also bad for the environment by you using the coal fired electricity and limited number of recharges of your Lithium battery in your device to read it?

    • +4

Normally, I wouldnt make a fuzz about it. But this time I have to agree with your points. Maybe they have some good reason not to do it, then again it only 48 pages …

      • 48 pages, 300 upvotes / 7000 clicks… you do the maffs

      • +2

Yes, I also wouldn't have mentioned it, but for what the book is about…
Made me giggle inside when I read post and realised . lol.
In all honesty, we most likely will be cutting down less trees in the future due to people using devices rather than physical books. Not having a go at anyone who likes to have physical pages and books, just an observation and subsequent logical consideration.
More ppl using kindle etc= less books.
Less books = less trees cut down for paper.

It contains 48 pages of organic gardening products and hints to help grow nutritious, chemical-free vegetables and fruit.

so 48 pages of marketing material sent to your mailbox … nice!

    • No different to the many competitions you have posted resulting in spam. Actually worse because it's free spam instead of paid delivery

    Has anyone got theirs yet?

    • +1

      nope

  • It's been more than 2 weeks since we have ordered this.. Have any one got their copy yet?

    • +2

      Still nothing

  • If it's always free, shouldn't this post be in the Forums, rather than the Deals section?

Doesn't look like we'll be getting it posted out to us. They got OZB'd! Extract from an email I just received…

Wow, what an overwhelming response to the offer posted by an Ozbargain member to receive our FREE annual Australian Organic Gardening Resource Guide.
We have been promoting organic growing in Australia for homes, schools, community gardens and small farms, for 30 years, but still found it amazing that thousands of you requested we post out our Organic Guide.

Our apologies for the delay in contacting you but this response was completely unexpected and came out of the blue. In order to reduce the environmental impact of printing and posting we would like to encourage you to head back to our website as it is a phenomenal resource of information and products on edible plants, heirloom seeds and organic pest management.

If after browsing our website, or joining our organic gardening Facebook community you would still like to receive a printed copy of our 48 page Australian Organic Gardening Resource Guide then we can post this to you with an order.

  • BTW I'll be accessing the ebook instead of the hard copy. I usually get our stuff from Diggers here in Vic, but it's nice to have a good alternative.

  • Haha, classic ozb!

After a long wait they are providing excuses that they want to reduce Environmental Impact. I don't know what is stopping them from sending electronic version then and also why they were sending them out before if they are so mindful about environment.

Maybe they just want to get an order and it’s their way of making money in the guise of sending the guide. Will let my friends know how they operate.

Marked email as Spam & Unsubscribed from mailing list. Not interested in getting marketing emails.

If anybody is interested in Organic Gardening, local councils & gardening groups organise Gardening events via their Website/Eventbrite where you gain knowledge and also get free seeds/seedlings and can also swap your excess garden produce.

Easy Organic Gardening and Moon Planting by Lyn Bagnall is a very good resource and it also tells you about Moon Gardening which I follow now.
