Agreed. Disappointing that Sony didn't announce the WH-1000XM4 at IFA. They must be still working on them, getting them right.

People seem to be buying them off the shelves without even trying them. I don't think Sony is feeling any pressure to release xm4 at all hey.

  • Bought a monitor from these guys a few months ago. Very happy with the customer service

  • Thanks for the Sony IFA link.
This near-field Hi-Res speaker thing looks interesting.
Isobaric enclosure design with coaxial drivers & pro features + a tonne of development.
Looks odd and knowing Sony’s premium products it will probably cost a tonne as well, but interesting product anyway.

  • $339! It's cheap for the quality

    • Well it's all plastic and pleather.

      • Yeah, build on these could definitely be better, but it's all for getting the weight down, however the QC35ii use metal and are still like 30g lighter. I think the price I paid $250, is a pretty fair price for XM3 because the sound quality is just ok, it's the noise cancelling that is really carrying it in terms of value for money.

        • Yea for sure. At that price it suits its purpose for you perfectly.

      • Well. though these parts all made from metal, it is still cheap price….CPU made from silicon but much expensive than silver at same size

        • Yes but you don't touch and interact or feel the cpu. So material doesn't matter too much for the cpu.

          • @onlinepred: Yea, compounded plastic material is regarded as a best solution for wearable device now. U can make it lighter and more comfortable via changing its internal structure…but metal acutually make the headphone heavier and it is even cheaper than compounded material…btw, metal may affect the strength of wifi and bluetooth signal, so manufacturer may increase strength of signal which cost more power and bad for your health….

            • @Liquid Pro: I have no clue what plastic they use on xm3, but it feels light, joints feel flimsy and cheap. Compared to Bose qc35 or Bose 700 it feels very cheap, even when wearing.

Comfort isn't to do with weight btw. It is how weight is distributed.

Metal or quality materials can make the product feel more comfortable and stable on your head, improve sounds quality and isolation. The only reason you would get cheap products like pleather and plastic is due to price.

Going from xm3 to H9i for example is nothing but a huge positive experience in build, comfort, isolation and sound quality as an example. This is almost entirely down to what materials they used.

  • Bit sceptical about their mid september date for the buds. The other retailers seem to be a fair bit after.
