    • done and thanks!

Out of my budget but I can feel (rich) people will buy this without thinking. Specs are amazing

    • Lenovo laptops are quite cheap through business portals.

      • How cheap for X1E?

        • we get around 25-40% off with our account

          • @Numlock: That would make huge savings on workstation laptops!

            • @nfr: Everything product seems to have a different discount.

Typing this comment on my 1st gen X1 Extreme right now. Easily the best laptop I've used. Now I feel rich :)

      • sorry scotty. you didn't make it to the rich list. hidden print state it applies to gen 2 only.

        • Damn it. I know there's a catch when I scooped up that gen 1 at discounted price.

      • Typing this comment on my 2nd gen X1 Extreme right now (with 4k screen upgrade). Easily the best laptop I've used. Now I feel… ecstatic.

    • I'm sorry, what is your point?

8gb of ram is embarrassing for this price just like my MacBook

    • +2

Yep that's the only weird spec in this laptop.. otherwise looks amazing for the price

Best bit is its user upgradable. Buy yourself a $50 8gb stick and you should have 16gb

  • +2

The 16GB model comes with IR camera as well for only ~$190 more. If you're gonna spend this much on a laptop, I'd want the 16GB.

  • $2000 with FHD no torch, 256GB SSD. Only if the CPU worth $1000

I really can't see the value out of this machine.

    X1 carbon is good enough

    • +1

doesn't the carbon cost almost the same? and that doesn't have the same processor and graphics as this one.

      • I think Carbon is around $1600 - $1700. Cheapest on here is around $1300.

      • +4

The carbon is smaller, and as such has weaker processors. It comes with a 4 cores as opposed to the 6 cores in the extreme and uses the iGPU provided by intel. Also ram is not user upgradable.

        • I didn't realise the RAM was user upgradeble in this one. That is good.

      • Got my 7th gen X1C i7 8565U/1080p 400nit/16gb RAM/512gb SSD/4G for 2300. 10 hour battery life, havent even heard the fan turn on once (undervolted). Laptop also charges from my power bank.

I'd get an x1 extreme only if i needed a bigger display or dedicated graphics.

        • one can argue you can get more specs for the same price with the x1e gen 2. you sacrifice portability though.

          • @flipden: The portability/battery life was the decision maker for me, I actually did price up an X1E gen 2 when I was researching. Couldn't be happier the the carbon, got a dbrand skin on it and it looks amazing!

  • How's the dedicated GFX card? Haven't read much about it…

  • What's the weight of this laptop?

    • Weight
      Non-touch: starting at 1.7 kg
      Multi-touch: starting at 1.81 kg

      • Wow, that's very light.

No one cares about its warranty?
    It's one year only. I prefer a X1 carbon with 3-year-peace-of-mind

    • +1

You may configure the warranty between 1 and 5 years on the page after customising hardware. Same goes for the X1 Carbon G7 - it is also configured with 1 year warranty as standard.

      • Hmm, I am using a Thinkpad T420. In my old memory the standard warranty of T and X series is 3 years.

        • I bought a x1 yoga in 2016 and that had minimum 1 year warranty. -20 series was almost a decade ago!

  • Does this ONLY have the dedicated graphics? Does it not have any intergrated? Just asking as there would be plenty of times I don't activly need a power hungry dGPU, and using intergrated graphics would be great to save on power usage.

I can't seem to find anyone mentioning integrated graphics.

All the Intel mobile CPUs would have integrated graphics, and switching to NVIDIA with Optimus when needed. Accord to Intel Ark, i7-9750H has UHD Graphics 630.
