      there a numerous cases of 3rd party docks bricking switches… even official 3rd party docks.

      A few in the past have been known for destroying the console. And because it's third party, you ain't covered.

      To give you the technical not so technical, most of these manufacturers are cheaping out on the proper resistors causing the the fried chip bricking the device.

  It would be good if you could have confidence in this dock. But there are lots of stories about the device being damaged by using 3rd party docks and chargers.

  way too many horror stories about third party docks unfortunately.

    Well, except that the prongs are for a US outlet, and that it's still a 3rd party dock with all of the risks that such a product entails…
