  • Anyone else have all their first choice deliveries taken to the post office for pickup when not at home? Absolute PIA having to line up for 30 mins at the post office for a case of beer.

Never have this problem with Dan's/boozebud/craft cartel/etc

    • It's the default option when you check out, you can change it to something else like leave at the front door etc.

      • Nope, I got a text from Australia post
AusPost: Your item from first CHOICE liquor is coming today.
Reply ASAP with 2 or 3:
        "2" Someone will be home
"3" If no one's home take to a Post Office
        More info auspost.com.au/TextYourChoice

Normally there is a "1" option to leave unattended. I replied 1 just to see and the automatic reply said not a valid option.

I'll just have to stick to Dan's/other booze deals to avoid the hassle.

        • Yeah I just got an email from Auspost saying safedrop is unavailable despite setting it as an option on my order. The email even says that it was denied by the sender so not an Auspost issue but a 1st Choice one. Disappointing.

    • The problem is with the Aus Post delivery guys, every delivery goes straight to the PO. I can confirm beyond doubt that they do not even attempt delivery, or bother to leave a card. I've been home for several deliveries, with a note on my front door confirming that I'm home, and all I get is a text saying that attempted delivery failed, pick it up at the PO. I wonder if 1C is aware of how poor the service is. It doesn't help selecting "leave at front door" - I do that for every delivery, but it is ignored because they don't even try to deliver.

      • That's because you're dealing with contractors. Some are overworked but most are lazy
