  • Isn’t there a new version of this mouse out?

    • +1

Yep, the Logitech MX Master 3.

  • +10

With the new model out, I would be expecting a sharper discount.

    • Me too

    • Having looked at the press release for the new one, I don't see it as a huge improvement over this one. I expect these will still sell well at this price.

      • +3

smooth scroll wheel with electro MAGNETS. MAGNETS I SAY!

        • You joke, but everyone seems to love the improvements to the scroll wheel.

        • +1

There's USB C in the new one instead of microUSB for charging. Mobility users will likely prefer to stick with one type of cable.

          • @octagonalman: Seems despite their talk of USB-C quick charging, it's not really any faster than the 2S charging rate, just different figures quoted.

            MX 3 - 1 minute for 3 hours.
            MX 2S - 3 minutes for a days worth.

      • Different angle, tilting the hand slightly for a more natural position
The 'mechanical' clicking wheel is now electromagnet driven for silent 'clicking'
Better positioning of the back/forward/horizontal scroll buttons
USB C charging (but same capacity)
Few software improvements to improve customisation options.

The MX 2S remains a great mouse though. I have 1x MX, 2 x MX2S - so I'll likely swap the MX for the MX3

        • Looking at the pictures, it seems that the thumb buttons have moved further away from the natural resting position of the thumb.

The electromagnetic wheel seems like an interesting gimmick, but I don't really see how it will effect the functionality of the mouse in any significant way.

  • The release date for Master 3 looks like it will be the start of October.

  • How does the maxs2 compare to the logitech gaming G502 wireless…
I'm. More into gaming but use the pc for office work too
    Appreciate the advise on this

    • +1

I haven't used the G502, but, the MX series mice are not light. They're fairly large and fairly heavy. They're comfortable for extended use - which is what they're designed for, not gaming.

I use mine for gaming, but I don't game seriously or well.

  • Logitech Wireless Combo MK220 - mouse is good, keyboard is a disaster. Key spacing is different and will drive you crazy if you plan to type a lot!

    This is far better:

  • Was so keen to get one of these but with the new one around the corner may as well wait I guess. Tempted by the MX Keys too with the ability to use it across multiple devices.

  • Good price for good mouse.

  • I've got the MX Master 2S, and whilst it is pretty good, I'd recommend waiting for the Master 3 - I think the button position changes and the scroll wheel are worth it. I find the buttons on the 2S much more difficult to use than the same buttons on the G400S (which is closer to the Master 3 layout), and the mechanical scroll wheel a bit janky when it switches from clicky to free wheeling.

  • is there a left handed version of this??

    • Not that I'm aware of, all Right Handed Mouse.

The Logitech MX Anywhere 2 was somewhat Ambidextrous.

  • I couldn't wait my old mx performance was having tracking issues was frustrating trying to get design work done, pulled the trigger. Pretty quick delivery from bing and loving the new mouse, so much better.

Only complaint is the forward/back buttons on the old version were better, think they are improved again on the mx3 coming up.
