I'm a little more concerned with the char(r)ing it's going to do after cleaning.. Can't trust these bots, will burn your house down.

      • I wouldn't trust Amaon to control it either

What's the consensus for best value robot vacuum with voice control these days?

    • I too would like to know

Only one use I ever had for it. Named my bot "The Toy Eater", when I told Alexa to start vacuuming she would respond with "OK, starting The Toy Eater" and the kids would jump to start cleaning up their toys..

      • Love it! Do you have this model vacuum or a different one?

        • Mine is a Neato

I have my Xiaomi mi robot rigged up to google home, is doable, just need to spend about a month … hass or openhab apparently work, i went with latter.
Provides zero benefit over just using Xiaomi app, in fact it's probably less convenient :)

  • i have always wondered do these inelligent roborts actually worth the money, my missus has been wanting one.

My gen 1 Xiaomi going strong been 3-4 years now love it. Didn’t think much about gen2

      A life changer for me,
Haven’t had to vacuum in years

If you get a reasonable one, like the Xiaomi mi Robot Gen 1 or the Roborock S5, they're great as if frees up your time and they provide real value for money. You will still need an upright vacuum for spot cleaning and some corners. Warning: They're not great on high pile carpets. Also, the voice command with Google Home and Alexa are still pretty gimmicky, but some people enjoy it. App is more convenient.

My gen1 Xiaomi going strong after 2 year

Too many rugs to get the gen2

  • Check out Neato BotVac, very good at what it does and usually gets reviewed/voted in 1st or 2nd place on comparisons.
