How is anyone meant to know the difference of these products. Just need a good battery. Vacuum only. Doesn’t get hair tangled around the brush. Preferably closer to $500 than $1000.

    • I was eyeing on a model that has extendable side brush and extendable mop, but couldn't find it under $999. so looking into this atm

    • +1

I think go through al the features they all have and pick your 'must have' ones, 'nice to have' and don't care for'. The Comparison charts are helpful for this.

Then look at any deals with those in mind. Shopping for a friend (that had an early Roomba) the
      must haves are:
      Self emptying at base station,
      Minimal hair tangles.

      Desirable (in descending order):
Rotary mop (rather than just a fixed pad),
      Quiet,
      Long run time/short charge time.

    • I got qrevo and impressed with it so far. I think it was $803 a while ago but with giftcards, it worked out to be less (15% off)

    • I bought the Q5 pro recently which has those rubbery "brushes" and I did not have to remove any hair yet, that's compared to the other one I have with the "traditional brush" which needs to be cut free every or every second run

is this one of the best one? too many models out there, so confusing

    • Yes, it's very confusing. I have the S7 as well, but I ended up getting the Tineco FLOOR ONE S5 Steam. We don't have any carpets, and the mop cleans very well—it leaves no streaks or dust. I haven’t used the robot vacuum in a while.

      • +1

How's the TineCo? I read the maintenance done to clean the rollers and stuff sort of negates the convenience?

        • +1

Very happy—it's a night and day difference in terms of cleanliness. Maintenance is a bit of a chore, but it's worth it. I will be selling the roborock in marketplace.

          • +1

@Krepokrip: Do you need to do maintenance every run to use it? I've been told you need to wash the rollers after each use to avoid the stale water smell. If I can run it once a day and do maintenance on the weekend it will work for me but if I have to do maintenance after each run I don't think it would really suit me.

      • +1

Same here. Been using the S5 Steam and the unreliable Ecovacs been gathering dust in a corner.

  • Shame they discontinued the MaxV it had so many more features…

    • does maxV have dryer feature after mop cleaning ? I dont see it in specs

  • +5

This is a two-year-old product in a highly competitive market segment and does not include spinning mop functionality. There are other options available within a similar price range that may offer better features or value.

    • which is better for a wooden floor, spinner mop or vibrating mop?

      • +3

Roller > Spinner > Vibrating Pad > Static Pad

      • I've had this one for a few years (after a S5 Max) - certainly does a good enough job for us. I only ever use the lowest level of water, since the floorboards don't like being soaked and it doesn't leave streaks. Don't know what level of water comes out of the spinny ones, nor if they leave marks.

    • There are other options available within a similar price range that may offer better features or value.

Can you please list some examples?

  • +1

    My s5max is still goood

    • same here. Built to last, still going after 4.5 years.

  • +4

Just a reminder that it's 2025, and we've been conditioned to buy vacuum cleaners that are upwards of $1000. Seems insane to me

    • +4

Question is, how much is your time worth? For me, it's worth it. It vacuums, mops, and it plays with my kids.

      • Bullseye. I have one, but if I had the choice again, I’d probably go with the Dyson Wash G1.

    • +1

Eh i bought the roborock s8 pro ultra, probably didn't need to spent $1900 but the Mrs and I haven't had to vacuum or mop the floors in the long time and everyone always comments on how clean the floors are, for us it was worth it.

  • Fyi, seems additional 10% cashback uncapped at Cashrewards for TGG today 9/5 only.

  • +1

I am using this for more than an year. It's the best, I don't think I need anything better looking at it's performance. Buy it.

I got mine for 1600 from Costco.

I empty the dirty water tank daily and fill clean water tank. Hardly takes 2 minutes.

Dust bag emptied every 2 months. Clean the bot monthly once or whenever I feel like.

  • How would it work with two storey houses? Will it save a map of the second storey? I understand I will need to lift it up the stairs and back downstairs for it to go back to the dock.

    • +2

yes it saves a map of each floor/layout.

      It auto detects which floor.

      I think max 4 maps?

  • $985 PB @ TGG combine with 10% + 10% cashback @ SB for potentially $836.50?

  • got one, bloody awesome
