Just when I’d decided this wasn’t great value at rrp and was going to purchase the tree house

Now you get to purchase both! 😭

Sorry to spoil the party but 20% discount is standard practice for Lego retailers .

Therefore not value or a bargain.

I tempted currently with rough terrain crane currently not available at Lego.com . RRP $399 can get $245 but I still want it to be 10% lower . I put that example because it’s also most likely retiring and not going to be up for years in the future .

Dont understand why you got neg. it’s not a exclusive set and you’ve already noticed it’s showed up on target and myer website before official releasing date. We are not talking about myer stack deal but even normal myer sale, you would get extra cash back or using discounted gift cards to save more. However early advertising is always good marketing that’s why shopforme is selling way better than any other independent retailer although I can’t see they gave bigger discounts than the competitors.

I don't mind I kind off have learned about sets like 10220 LegoVolkswagen T1 Camper Van 2011 ( RRP $170 market value around $100-$110 )still available at Lego.com .

If you want some value you don't want a set to be on sale still after 8 yrs lol .

But I guess if everyone did it I would miss out on more value so I kind of need these guys :)

He's getting negged because he wants more than 38% off.

38% is about as good as it gets, waiting for another 10%? That's fine, but it's unrealistic and we don't need to hear about it in EVERY lego thread.

'> 30% = myer discounting the set + being listed on myer ebay (lots of stuff isn't) + 20% ebay coupon + discount ebay gift cards. It requires ALL stars to align.

        • Then why I got begged then? Lol.

    • Where is the rough terrain crane available for $245? I'm tempted at that price…

Sorry to spoil the party but 20% discount is standard practice for Lego retailers .

This set hasn't officially launched yet (it's part of the October 1st Lego line-up) and it's not available at any other retailer in Australia currently (save for Myer but they're selling it at RRP); and even when it is widely available, it'll be selling at much closer to the RRP of $330, than this price.

So yes, this is a deal by every conceivable criteria:

      • It's not RRP.
      • There are no competitors selling it for this price currently (and there won't be for a while I suspect).
      • And for a brand-new, 2,573 piece Technic set, $263.20 is an amazing price.

Lately, Target has somehow been securing stock of new Technic sets before they've officially launched and discounting them by 20% (in fact they had the 4X4 X-treme Off-Roader available on their online store back in July, before the official release date as well) which is a great trend for Australian Lego fans that I hope continues. Same goes for the Tantive IV which is still 20% off at Target and has been a Lego S@H exclusive since launch.

Nothing wrong with this deal at all.

Just purchased, went through with free delivery.

    Orders over $80 free

  • Keep in mind this set is NOT motorized. To save others having to look it up too.

  • Has Target closed up their eBay shopfront? Can't seem to find it there.

  • Has anyone got their defender yet? I popped into target and they haven't got delivery yet. Maybe I should have just got it delivered, instead of click and collect.

My last click & collect order from Target (the Tantive IV) took about 3 business days to actually be ready for collection, and in the past I've had click & collect orders for really popular sets during massive promotions take weeks before there was stock available, so it can be a while.

Usually if there's a good chance your order is going to be cancelled, they'll notify you early, in a day or two.

      • Thanks for the heads up, fingers crossed it doesn't get cancelled!
