½ Price Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramilk Block 180g $2.40 @ Woolworths

1750

Bargain?? Well only when considering the clearance resulted in $10+ blocks being sold online. Unsure if it's here to stay but at $2.40 I imagine a lot of people are going to be happy.

      For $2.40, what more do you expect !

        what more do you expect !

        250g.

        • Correct me, but i have only seen 180g of these bars…do they come in 250 too ?

          • -4

            @gabbarkalia: Last time I bought Cadbury, they were 250g family blocks.

            • +2

              @jv: I thought family pack is 350g.

              • +7

                @slackme:

                I thought family pack is 350g.

                Maybe for Catholic families.

                The normal family block was 250g for many, many years…

                • +7

                  @jv: That package looks old as hell.
                  You been in cryo since the 50's, jv?

            • @jv: Last time I bought Cadbury chocolate, It was 1990.

              • @Danger: Keep your memories & don't bother. Tastes much like sweetened chalk now, cocoa / choc flavour is almost nil. Mrs bought a bar of Dairy Milk and I nearly threw it to the dog after one row, except he can't eat chocolate… then again he may have been able to eat whatever Cadburys has become.

              • @Danger: When was that?

            • @jv: Feeling blessed by this knowledge

        • +1

          I'd be happy with 240g

          • +5

            @iforgotmysocks: Didn't they go 250 -> 220 -> 200 -> 180g ?? (due to customer feedback)

            • +6

              @jv:

              due to customer feedback

              I think you mean that people would be unhappy with a price increase sook they kept the price the same and gave you less

              • +1

                @spaceflight: Keeping the price the same but giving you less is essentially a price increase on the product…

                • +1

                  @buffalo bill: I know that, and it's what I said…
                  The price hasn't gone up so people haven't seen a price rise.

        • +2

          thats years ago 250 gram then 200 gram now 180 gram soon 160 or 150 then they sell for half price to make you think its a bargain. Lots of things a getting smaller but they charge the same.

          • @paulaus: Same as cars… they keep reducing them in size then stick another car size in the middle ;) some old guy told me that and I realised it’s what they did do haha

          • +15

            @paulaus:

            thats years ago 250 gram then 200 gram now 180 gram soon 160 or 150

            It will disappear around 2050

            • +1

              @jv: So we'll literary be paying for nothing.

                So we'll literary be paying for nothing.

                So make sure you get them at half price…

          • @paulaus: That's what she said

          • +1

            @paulaus: The Natural Confectionery increased their sizes but got rid of all the good flavours

          • -1

            @paulaus: I can never tell if the people incessantly whining about products getting smaller don't understand the concept of inflation (and therefore don't realise that they're wage has more than likely increased at a similar or higher rate to compensate for it), or just enjoy whining for no reason (JV aside of course).

              @callum9999:

              people incessantly whining about products getting smaller don't understand the concept of inflation

              Inflation means that products should be getting BIGGER.

            • @callum9999: heheh they sure are wage

      • +9

        no

    The chocolate doesn't release until next Wednesday, and the current sale finishes Tuesday

    • +1

      Bastards!!!

      The chocolate doesn't release

      What is it releasing?

      • +3

        Endorphins?

        • thanks.

    • I saw it in woolies on the shelves today

  • +9

    I've tried this - it tasted ok but really sweet, nothing special. Not sure what the hype is all about lol

    • +9

      Think it's just been 'hyped' so much by news.com.au articles (thinly disguised adverts, not marked as such since apparently it's 'legitimate' news that the 'internet is breaking' and 'people are going wild over this ONE thing'). If caramel flavour chocolate wasn't available in about 30 other forms in a typical supermarket chocolate aisle it might even make sense that people were being hysterical over a (very average, very sugary) block of mass produced chocolate.

      • +1

        Hey, with the awful current practice of SALTING everything caramel (YEE-UK), it's no wonder they're hyping it up.

        • It's not salted, quit the drama

        • That's because salted caramel tastes better and people eat more of it compared to plain caramel.

      • Which supermarkets do you go to? Because my four local Coles/Woolworths have zero caramel flavour chocolate. Chocolate with caramel, yes, but nothing like this, I look forward to trying it even though I don't often eat chocolate.

  • Apologies stating unavailable online however the url listed stock at time of post.
    Purchased in Craigieburn, plenty of stock

  • +5

    My store got 700 blocks in tonight..
    Don't think we need to worry about release dates as no information was sent out, just came with normal grocery load. If we have the stock, we put it out!
    Half price sale is the best time to buy

      • +4

        He didn't buy it. I gifted it to him.

        • -1

          And that ladies and gents, is how you get full blown diabet's

    • Thanks

  • Nice OP! Thanks for posting.

  • +1

    Just bought at Forest Hill (VIC). Plenty of stock.

    • They have 8 less now.
      Thanks for the tip!

  • +2

    It was so gross we still have one of the original blocks sitting unopened

    • Why are you holding on to them?

      • +10

        Investment choc?

      • The wife was going to cook something with it to get rid of it, eventually😆

    • My partner (in the food industry) said there was a recall on it last time…

    • I think you did the whole 'buy low, sell high' thing wrong. Missed the sell stage.

  • -8

    This was already posted and it had a bunch of negs.

    • +2

      Nope.

      The deal was posted with RRP @ Coles before it was unpublished as "No bargain listed"

    • +1

      This was already posted

      No. This Deal is half that unpublished Deal price, at a different store.

      it had a bunch of negs

      Not for the product.
      Negs were for RRP is not a Deal. So was unpublished as there was no Deal.

      • -3

        I guess 1 or 2 dollars means the world to the people on this site.

        • Um… "ozBARGAIN" !? LOL.

        • Well it's a saving of $2.40 per block. Most would be buying multiple blocks. So that's far more than 1 or 2 dollars saved!

    • +4

      it had a bunch of negs.

      just like your comment…

      • -2

        ironically.

  • Had some today. (profanity) delicious stuff. Pretty much tastes like a creamier milky way bar.

  • No luck at my 2 locals. And one says online that it is in stock. Guess it will be shelf filled tonight.

  • Too bad it's only the caramel flavoured variety.

    You can search local stock using this link https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/56949/cadb…

    Sydney seems to have a few stores with stock listed as available, I have not found any store SEQ stocking it as of yet.

    • I think they may have sold out already, because I don't see any store that I checked.

      • Through typing Manly (Sydney), it says some is in stock at the neutral bay Woolworths

        • Thanks.

          But tbh I just stock up on them when they sell for $3 quite regularly

  • +2

    Just grabbed 2 from Indooroopilly. They were filling the isle and the box was still unpackaged. Fortunately the ladies allowed me to take some. Time to see what all the fuss is about.

    • Pls report back.
