True, but Australian retailers need to be price competitive. 5%-10% more than overseas stock is fine, anything more than that is not.
Before I get flamed, I've worked in a large Australian retailer and I've seen their profit margin on many items, so don't cry me a river for being poor. We consumers can also cry for being ripped off for years.
The "support Australian retailers" guilt-trip won't work here.
