    Good deal, thanks for posting!

  • +1

With cashback it would be even cheaper as well

    • -1

Works out to be $377.52 after cashback which is pretty good.

      • isn't entertainment category is only 3.5%?

        • +2

          Wouldn't this fall under electronics?

          • @matictac: I believe it is under electronics, which is 3.5%. That brings it down to about $413.99

            • @ColstonAUS: 4.5% with Shopback.

              • +8

@G77: This falls under the Video Games category which is both 3.5% at Shopback and Cashrewards.

It used to be 4.5% at Shopback, but dropped to 3.5% recently on the 3/10.

You can click the cashback button on OzBargain under go to deal and click the arrow icon to see cashback history.

Cashback also excludes GST, so the 3.5% is on $390 not $429.

                SB:

Cashback is only payable on order value (excludes taxes, shipping and packaging costs)

                CR:

Cashback is paid on eligible purchases, excluding shipping/delivery, taxes and GST.

                Pretax amount:

                Total before GST: $390.00
                GST: $39.00
                Order Total: $429.00

3.5% on $390 is $13.65. Total after cashback is therefore $415.35.

                • @hamza23: You're right, thank you. 3.5% it is.

                  • +2

@G77: Thanks for all the correction guys. Apologies for the confusion.

  • for $5 more, wouldn't the fortnite bundle better deal?

    • It's $429 on Amazon AU but yes, it is better.

  • +1

Can always stack it with those $20 off vouchers from Maccas Monopoly 👍

    • +5

      Just 1 voucher.

    • Also New Customer only.

    • How to get that? What's Macca monopoly?

      • eat lots of maccas

  • Fortnite bundle is also $429, just purchased.

  • Are sales on the ps4 pro low? or are they just trying to clear them out - like eb games with the trade in offer and this.

    something to do with ps5?

    • +5

Most likely clearing them out with the arrival of the next gen consoles in 2020.

      • Next gen meaning PS5 or an updated version of the PS4?

        • Ps5

        • +1

a new PS4 model is by definition not next gen. PS5 is Next gen and coming in 2020.

    • I’d say more likely cashing in on death stranding/last of us part 2 hype. Just had a big showing for both.

      • I only played TLoU on my PS4… then PS4 sat under my TV for months and every time I went to play something I had to update the it which took ~1hr, and by that time I had lost interest or had to go to bed.

  • I'm looking to buy an Xbox or a PS, but really have no preference. How do I choose, and should I wait til 2020? Otherwise should I just game via PC? Lol

    • +2

if you have PC, you can actually skip XBox one or PS4, most games are released for PC as well.

If you have to get one, go with PS4, they have more exclusive not in PC

    • I'd go Xbox. Games with and Gamepass will give you tons of games to try for not a lot of money. Get the new combined one.

      • -1

        Gamepass is also on PC

        • Yes but many more games on Xbox.

  • I feel like we're about to see some permanent price drops on PS/XB going into xmas.

    • +1

Yep, I might bite at <$400, next-gen is all guns blazing so I think these consoles will be left in the dust "biggest leap in compute power" "no load times" these are pretty big changes

      • Yep, it'll be a massive upgrade next year. :D It's surprising that prices have stayed so high this gen, but I guess it might be the Fortnite effect. Fewer people buying software, so they keep the price of the boxes higher. Pro should be $399 at this point in my view.

        • Prices have stayed high cos our dollar has fallen considerably. They've dropped everywhere else around the world.

          • @ONEMariachi: Prices have stayed comparatively higher on hardware worldwide this gen, regardless of the AUD.

      • I reckon like mobiles, the price will jump from the $600-$800 -> $1200-$1500

        • lol, you'd be able to make a PC that'd be more powerful than a console at that price. No way would they push that high.

  • is this worth it coming from a slim user? how much can i sell my slim for

    • +1

Might be better off looking at this deal if you have an existing slim you want to upgrade.

    • +1

I reckon it's worth it for the $149 upgrade deal (especially as you'll get a new controller and warranty). The higher resolution is nice, but the real upgrade is smoother frame rate for most games. That choppy feeling of the base model is hard to go back to.

  • Looks like a new ps4 bundle is coming out with Modern Warfare. Must explain why shops want rid of these bundles.

MW is basically free in the new bundle

  • Awesome… just bought one last week from Amazon :|

  • for anyone looking to wait for the next Generation, it wont be out till around Christmas next year(12/11/2020). So there's plenty of life still left in this generation and this is a great bargain for anyone looking to get a new console. Especially since the PS5 will cost $499 USD. so including the usual Australia tax we're looking at a $800-900 AUD price tag on release.

    • could even be $599 usd

    • Who on earth will pay $800 for a console?

      • +1

If history is any indicator, millions of people in the first week

      • PS2 was $700~ if I recall. Just the console..
Considering the tech rumoured for next gen, I won’t be surprised to see over 800 to be honest.

        • The PS3 was $AU999.

I imagine the PS5 would top out at $699. Anything over would be really pushing it.

        • That is crazy. I’ve been out of the loop from the gaming world for awhile but PS4 already has great graphics. What could ps5 possibly have to offer that could warrant such a price tag….

    • Seems like it’s launching American Holidays 2020 according to Playstation themselves
