  • A good price, indeed, but "Extend Wi-Fi coverage by up to 929 m2" is really just by a 9.7metre radius.

    • +2

hmmm that maths doesn’t work out. isn’t the math pi R squared?

      • +1

Approximately 17m meter radius to achieve 929m2

  • I have one of these and can vouch that it works really well. Covers the whole house front to back and speeds are not noticeably slower

  • Would this be ideal to extend the internet from the front of the house to reach the back (granny flat)?

About 20-25m from front to back with walls etc

    • +1

I install this over the weekend for my granny flat worked great achieving 40-50mbs from (100mbps/40mbps) on 5.1ghz and the distance is about 10-14m from this device. I can't comment on 20-25m, give it a go and if you're not happy with the result return it to Officeworks.

Also, check out mesh wifi system…. not sure which will provide a better result

      • Sorry this device would be about 10-15m from modem and an additional 10m to the granny flat

        • This device needs to be installed close proximity to your NBN router, I set mine up within 3m to the router

  • how much power does this use?
also would i be better off going router + extenders or a mesh network?

    • +1

if you are worried so much about the power, just run your own cable.

      thank you.

  • i have the old old RE210 and it works well so this will be a bonus.

  • Better to add this to the telstra smart modem gen 2 or add a mesh like the tenda mw3 instead?
Adding an extender would mean you still use Telstras antivirus on your WiFi. No too sure about how secure would Tendas WiFi be.

    • Coverage per spec

      TP-Link RE450 929m2
      Tenda MW3 300m2
      Tenda MW6 500m2

For distance, I would say TP-link
For a small house go for Tenda MW3 or 6

  • Just got a TP link Deco mesh system…it rocks! Way better than my range extenders ever were

  • Expired? 163$ for me here.

    • Umart is showing $84 dollars, Officeworks you will need to go in store and ask for price match with Umart.
