    • Thanks, we think its one of the best deals out there especially with the 5 years commercial warranty.

  • So whats the difference between a normal 5 year warranty and commercial 5 year warranty? Does it mean it needs to be fitted in a commercial property to get 5 years?

    • No not at all. You can install it in your residents and still claim the full 5 year warranty.

  • this unit has a manual sliding switch to select the white-color. Appears to be compatible with trailing and leading edge dimmers.

  • Eco lighting ebay in melbourne offer same sort for approx $5.58 with 7 yrs warranty and free shipping no minimum spent. How does it compare to this one?

    • Hi Robin,

We cant see the link that you are sending could you please resend? Or just the full name of the ebay product.

      Cheers

The key differences I can see from there ad are:

          • Their down light is not tri-colour with the 3000K, 4000K and 6500K in the one light.
          • Their warranty is 7 years but not commercial which means if the light is installed in a commercial residents there is no warranty.
          • Their down light also does not display a IC-4 rating so that means it cant be put in an insulated panel.

Thais what I found anyway. If there is anything else I'll be happy to help. :)

  • How do these compare with the Mercator Apollo lights? The specs look pretty similar (except for the top colour temp of 5000k vs 6500k on the Eko).

Am I right in assuming because the Apollo has a little higher CRI rating that the Apollo are a little "better"? (Removed: Seems the "official" specs of the Apollo lists CRI80+ as well).
(Genuine question, as I'm looking for fitment in an upcoming kitchen reno)

To be perfectly honest between the two down lights, there is almost no difference except the 5000k vs 6500k that you outlined. They both have the same warranty, light output, etc. But if you are looking for the whitest white you can get in your kitchen I would the EKO.

      Cheers for the question.

  • How are you supposed to connect these to power… Get a sparky to put a GPO in your roof or what?

    • Exactly that you have a plug base on the end and that plugs into a standard plug base outlet.

      Thanks for the question :)

    • I bought a bunch of these off ebay. Can highly recommend: https://www.melec.com.au/product/ml-bs-pb/

Still require a licensed electrician to fit them though obviously.

  • Want to buy 10x, but got error,
