It’s OzBargain’s 13th birthday!

Following up on scotty’s post I’ll jump in and get a meetup going for Perth this year. I had a blast at the Brisbane one last year, everyone with a common interest yet different backgrounds leads to some great chats and tips.

New accounts, guests, and veterans welcome. The more the merrier! I’m excited to meet some Perth bargain hunters!

Update: It’s on!

Date: Saturday, November 23rd at 1pm. I'll be there from 12:45pm and we'll keep the party going until at least 2pm.
Location: Mack Daddy’s Pizza (new store, 3 doors up) in 560 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
Dress: Casual

Scotty/OzBargain have been super super amazing and offered to sponsor the food and drinks for the day so leave your wallets at home and come join us for free pizza and drinks. You won't leave hungry.
If you do have any dietary needs, please message me beforehand and I'll try to help!

There will also be OzBargain t-shirts and bags!. We'll do a lucky username draw about 1:30 pm to give them out.

I'll also be taking down usernames for the coveted "Not A Bot" badge.

    Somewhere central - Perth/Northbridge probably makes sense.
    Somewhere cheap - this is Ozbargain after all.
    If its in the City then a weekday lunch catch-up works for me.

      Absolutely, I think Freo or Trigg area would be a bit of a hike for most. Central seems safest.

      Looking around, Mack Daddy's Pizza sounds pretty good and is an easy way for everyone to fill up. They also take bookings for 12+. Depending on how many people are interested we can either do the meetup at the venue or in the park like last year.

      I'm still quite new to Perth so if anybody knows any good central group options, chime in and I'll get the ball rolling.

      I’ve advised them of the numbers.

      If the event gets any bigger though I might have to move it to the park at the end of the street (3 minute walk) and bring the food and drinks down from the restaurant as long as the weather stays nice. We’ll figure it out!

    Mount Lawley is a great choice. Given the downturn in that area, there should be some bargains to be had at nearby closing down sales.

    i might go. 75% chance. i'm still busy collecting my birthday freebies so still unsure and haven't voted yet.
    my attendance is also dependent on my ability to wake up early on a Saturday ;)

    what's the latest date you need numbers by?

      No worries.

      I'll chat with the venue tomorrow as we're probably pushing it for capacity. I didn't expect so many! It's good though :)

      I'm not too worried about firm numbers, worst case scenario we'll have it in the park down the road my only concern with the park is seating.

      Yep, only 3 spots up and much bigger. I’ve spoken to the venue and checked out the park and will have an update in a few days at most as to where it will be for sure.
