iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) 256GB Wi-Fi + Cellular $1733 @ Harvey Norman

90

Seems like a good deal, other various models also on clearance (https://www.harveynorman.com.au/promos/half-billion-dollar-c…) however this was the biggest discount available. Not available for delivery, so only available from select stores?

  • $1660 from Officeworks, but appears to be out of stock.

Wrong Model, refer to comment below.

    • OP linked the Wi-Fi + Cellular verison, your link is for the Wi-Fi only version.

      • My bad. The Wi-Fi + Cellular model is still in stock at Officeworks, so you should be able to pricematch/beat.

        $1646.35 after Pricematch/beat at Officeworks.

What is excluded from the Price Beat Guarantee?
Stock liquidations (i.e. competitor clearance products or goods sold by a business placed into receivership)

Don't think Office works will price match as HN have it listed as clearance?

          • @Manusdei: Worth a try. At the end of the day, it at the discretion of the staff.

            • @RichardL: what's the point of price guarantee if they only match the price, not giving you discount on top of that.
I found two of the models are cheaper at Umart.
Why do I bothered to go to HN and ask the price guarantee if I can just go to Umart for the same price.

(different story if you've already bought and found cheaper somewhere else)

        • Hit and Miss with Pricematch tbh.

        • Office works have matched the price on their website now.

  • Huge difference in pricing for the Pro model.
The non pro are much better value.

  • I’m in the market to buy one but confused with all the models. Is this the one which can use Apple Pencil 2? I read online there’s a new model scheduled for end of October, is that right?

    • +1

Yes, it's only compatible with Apple Pencil 2. Not sure about upcoming model but I'd say it's not going to be much of an update from this one.

    • +2

I'd say March for a refresh on the Pros. If they do this October, it'll just be a media release (no keynote) and a spec bump (A13X + 6GB RAM for all models?)

Where did you see that? they didn't mention a hardware refresh at the iphone launch.

      • Just been googling and reading predictions. I'm interested in getting this as replacement for my laptop (I have a macbook air and a PC) but getting hit and miss info…..not sure if I should wait for the next model. So confused.

        • not sure why I got negged. I thought you might've have a legit source for iPad pro refresh next week.

not sure if I should wait for the next model

If you're getting a good deal on the current model, just get that, the new models wont be discounted for a while. You might even be able to lodge a price protection claim in the future.

    • Anything that is iPad Pro 11 or iPad Pro 12.9(2018) will take new Apple Pencil 2

    SHEEJUS KHRIST.

I have the new 12.9 ipad pro and it is a beast in term of performance. 4k Footage editing. The best screen and etc
But it's also very heavy for a tablet. Fingerprints if not using apple pencil. And it is pricy, although to me it's worth the money
so for "lightweight" users, the non-pro 9.7 ipad may be a better choice for the weight and price.

    • this is very helpful. Thank you. Any idea how the ipad pro compares to surface pro 7? For general PC work but plus video editing?

      • +1

I personally won't go for the surface products for performance or productivity jobs like video editing or programming. If you are not an Apple user, a desktop PC may be a better option. And I've been told that the quality control of surface pro is not very good.
